Pet care experience
I have grown up with almost every pet imaginable from dogs (my favorite) to chickens! I have a genuine love of animals and have worked as a volunteer at the Washington Animal Rescue Alliance walking, feeding, and caring for dogs and cats. Through that position I was professionally trained to work with many pet temperaments and learned strategies to ensure that pets and handlers are safe and respected at all times. I have regularly pet sat for extended periods of time for neighbors. My family currently has two dogs, Tink and Yogi, a cat, Fenway, and a chicken, Omelette, who all make for a very entertaining crew to come home to! I look forward to meeting your welcome home crew too!
Reviews
Gwen was fantastic, very communicative, and took great care of our dog and cat while we were out of town. Would definitely work with her again!
Gwen did an amazing job with our kitty Whiskey! We went away for a long weekend, and she consistently sent us photos and updates everyday. We came home to a very content and happy baby (and our apartment just as we left it)! Thank you so much Gwen!
Excellent communication, professional, friendly, trustworthy. Our timid dog warmed up to Gwen quickly. Highly recommend her!
Excellent pre-visit communication. Interested in having a thorough understanding of our dog’s needs. Professional.

Safety, trust & environment
I value respect for pets above all else. I do my best to actively read body language and queues of pets that are in my care to ensure mutual safety and sense of trust. In my home, this looks like allowing my little dog space and bodily autonomy, pets are not toys. I wash pets in my care weekly with natural, pet-friendly cleaning products. I also work with my dogs biweekly for basic training skills including leash training and food-focused obedience training.
Information Gwen S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or needs behavioural accommodations. Also let me know if your pet has a history of biting or aggression.
A typical day
I love to go on frequent walks throughout my day and no walk is better than one accompanied by a dog! When caring for animals I love to get outside as much as possible. I also love practicing tricks and skills with dogs to be actively engaged with them through fun learning.
