Pet care experience
I grew up with a variety of cats and dogs in Seattle, where my family currently has 2 sweet rescue cats and a labradoodle. Now I'm a grad student here in Cambridge and looking to share my love for dogs (and cats, too)! I want to help you keep your pets happy whether that be through walks, visits to the dog park, or play time and cuddles at your home. Your pet will always gets lots of affection! Pet parents know best, and I'm ready and able to follow your instructions to a T. It's great to know about any routines or expectations you have, and any other relevant information like commands your pet knows or things they particularly like/dislike.

Have used Gwen multiple times and she was a lifesaver when I was going away and Toby was getting over an illness. She asked some good thoughtful questions that made me feel comfortable in leaving him with her, and kept me updated on how he was doing throughout the weekend (and administered pills with no problem). Toby also loves hanging out with her!

I know pet parents have to put a lot of trust into a potential pet sitter. I take careful note of all the details you mention (e.g. at what temperature to start using the AC, details of how to lock up, where pets are and aren't allowed to be, etc) and aim to leave your place as good or better than I found it.

It's great to know about any routines or expectations you have, and any other relevant information like commands your pet knows or things they particularly like/dislike. I also like to know how dogs behave around other dogs or animals, and how they are on a leash. I want to care for your pet as best as I can, and will follow your instructions carefully to help keep your pet safe and happy!
A typical day
My plans will vary according to what you're looking for. I enjoy playing tug-of-war and fetch and other games with dogs, taking them out on walks through Cambridge, and going to dog parks to let them romp around and play. Snuggles and relaxation inside is also nice - I have a particularly soft spot for pets that like cuddles and affection! For cats, I'm perfectly happy to just drop in to make sure they have food and water if that's best for them, but I also love spending time playing with cats and figuring out their favorite toys. Even chilling out in the same space is great! I also have a history of tiring out even the most playful of kittens with playtime (especially using the fishing-rod style toys!).

Availability
On a typical weekday, I am free after 4pm and am also frequently available during the day (especially on Mondays and Fridays). As a grad student, my schedule is more flexible than most and some weekdays I choose to work from home (and can take breaks to be with your pet). I'm also free most weekends all day long, though I'm sometimes traveling or rock climbing with friends. This means I have lots of time to spend with your pet! I'm happy to see your pet as a one-off event or for a repeating schedule.
