Walks + Training!
Pet care experience
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) specializing in reactivity and currently working on my official Behavior Consultant certification. I just moved to Denver from NYC with my own dog, Zuzu, and am free for walks, outings, and puppy sitting while I work at starting my own training business here (Google Search "Blitz Dog Training" to read my reviews - or contact me there for training needs!) My mission is simple: I am in the business of boosting confidence and I cannot wait to meet you, your dog(s), and watch them thrive in this gorgeous city!
Reviews
We could not have asked for a better sitter! From the beginning, she was extremely accommodating to our somewhat hectic schedule. She watched Zoe, our 50lb Pitbull Mix over the Thanksgiving holiday, and we can say with certainty that our dog had the best Thanksgiving ever. Gwen took her to her family home in CT on Thanksgving day, bringing our pup to the beach and going on long walks through the fall leaves. We got daily photo updates of all of their fun adventures! When we went to pick Zoe up, she was sad to be leaving her new friend. Thank you Gwen, and we can't wait to have you watch Zoe again soon!
Gwen was extremely professional, prompt, and responsive. I felt like our dog was in good hands. When we came home our dog was tired from all of his walks! He seemed to be very comfortable with Gwen. We will definitely use her again.
Gwen has watched all 3 of my dogs over the years and I have never seen someone so happy to take a dog for a walk. She plays with them for hours and surprised me by bathing and nail clipping all 3, even my most difficult dog. She is enthusiastic and I would have a hard time believing you if you were disappointed in her services.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is ALWAYS my first priority. Then building confidence - all while having fun! I rarely conclude a session without talking about enrichment (safe and individualized sniffing, licking, digging, chewing/shredding, chasing, and social time with humans and/or dogs) because I know how important it is for a dog's needs to be met - so your dog is sure to have his/her cups filled during our time together!
Information Gwen M. would like to know about your pet
Daily routine so I can keep this as similar as possible to when you are home; how they get along with other dogs or if there is some fear/frustration if you'd like me to work on it or just utilize management; if they have any anxieties or fears (thunderstorms, car trips, separation distress/anxiety, etc), and a basic (or lengthy!) overview of their personality. I understand every dog is unique and I am more than happy to review and follow a 20 page essay on them if you have it written up because I know this means you love them as they deserve. :)
A typical day
This will be up to your individual dog, their routine, and whatever else their body language tells me they need! I have created courses on fun with agility, urban agility, and nose work and always love practicing with new dogs if they are ready. For longer boardings, hikes will be on the agenda - as long as your dog wants to, of course. My only preference: walking dogs in harnesses. We can discuss if this has "caused more pulling" and the reasons why - but we've learned a lot more about how sensitive a dog's neck and spine are and I am not comfortable with potential injuries, even over the long term. There are exceptions to this preference though, happy to chat! Due to basic physics, operant conditioning, and simple kindness, I refuse to use prong collars/e-collars. I have plenty of extra harnesses, leashes, and long-lines though! I am also available for boarding in your home after at least a walk has been booked and have spent time with your pup - just as long as my own dog, Zuzu, can come! Zuzu is a 3.5 year old lab mix, former stray mother found with her 5 puppies, and a total sweetheart. While she was a nut-case on leash upon adoption, she is now a dream and proves constantly that she was meant to be a trainer's assistant. She is great with all dogs - already helping dozens of other dogs build confidence through walks together, helping teach adolescents what proper play looks like, and will gently let 8 week old puppies take her things away.
