Dog loving family of 3
Pet care experience
We had a 6-yr old rescue shepherd chow lab mix dog in our home for 4 years until he sadly passed at age 10 a few years ago. My kids and I LOVE dogs, but aren’t capable of the commitment to having our own right now. Dog sitting is a way for us to enjoy four legged friends at the right level of commitment. We have taken care of friends’ dogs while they’ve gone on vacation 3 times in the past year and it’s been a great experience.
Reviews
I should start by letting you know that our Golden, Rory, is a part of our family and we almost always take here with us wherever we go. Enter Gwen and her girls, the best dog caregivers you could ask for. They took Rory in last year when we had to travel without Rory. They administered her daily medication with ease. Took her on walks. Played with her. They made Rory feel like she was part of their family. So much so that Rory is excited to go see them when we need to travel without her. Traveling without Rory before we connected with Gwen was stressful. Gwen made us so comfortable that we now don’t hesitate to travel and drop Rory off with her.
I've got a 6-year-old beloved pooch named Carl. He's a very good boi, but despite his measly 42lbs, he pulls like a 150lb dog, sprints like a gazelle, and thinks he's the size of a dane. Gwen is fantastic in her handling of him, and she is one of his on-call dog-sitters. She quickly learned Carl's tendencies and adapted to walking him and playing with him; her overall care for him is A+ quality. I'd recommend her if you're looking for a trusted person to exercise and spend time with your loved doggo.

I have a fenced in backyard, a great big and safe neighborhood for walks, and no off limits spaces in my home (although ideally your dog would not sleep in my bed - kid’s beds are fair game). I have a large crate I can set up if needed.
Home
Information Gwen C. would like to know about your pet
Your dog’s normal schedule for bathroom breaks, exercise, feeding and sleeping. Your most used commands. How the dog walks (pulls, with a leader, etc). How your dog likes to play. Any medications or special requests. How your dog is around young children (6 and 4). And rules at home (like staying off couches, etc) we should keep.
A typical day
Our schedule will depend on your dog’s normal schedule to ease the transition. I’m typically up by 5:30/6 am weekdays and can give walks prior to going downtown for work, as well as after work.

Availability
I work from home two days a week, which means midday walks and full day companionship. I love to be active on the weekends. If I have my kids (ages 6 and 4), this probably means lots of walks and play in our fenced in backyard. If I’m kid free, it might mean a metropark hike, trip to Brewdog or doggie dates with my friend’s dog - depending on what your dog is up for.
