Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs, and now have a lovely, well trained dog of my own, Goose, a 4 year old terrier mix. I worked at London based a doggy day care and training center as a dog carer for a year+. During and after that time I pursued private dog sitting in my home as well as dog walking for friends and clients. I have experience in dog training and I am very passionate about animals and their care and well being.

I have had Gretchen care for my two dogs and cat on various occasions for the past several years. I met Gretchen at her time working at a professional doggy daycare, she came highly suggested from various dog owner friends and I haven’t looked back since. Gretchen offers a level of care and doggy enrichment that I have struggled to find anywhere else in london. Gretchen's top priority has always been that my dogs feel adjusted and comfortable with her and more often than not they are sulking when they have to leave her ! Gretchen’s knowledge of dog psychology and behaviour was a life saver when it came to working on some stubborn negative habits of my dogs, she went out of her way to teach me subtle training techniques that she has applied to her own animals and the difference both at home and out and about has been life changing. Gretchen’s own dog, Goose, is a true testament to her understanding and emotional connection with these beautiful creatures. One of the sweetest and well behaved dogs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, it is clear that Gretchen knows exactly what she is doing when it comes to dog training. Gretchen also employs various dog enrichment activities that my dogs just adore and revealed to me within the first few weeks of caring for my pups that they both loved music, and tried to interact with it ( her use of the harmonica had my pups trying to harmonise ! ) and that my dogs adored her non toxic doggy bubbles when over simulated. Gretchen has also helped in the care of my cat during work trips and has kept me updated with pictures and updates on her well-being. I have even been shown my cat hypnotised by various videos of birds and mice that Gretchen has put on for them ! I cannot recommend Gretchen more highly when it comes to pet care, especially if you want a well experienced career with years or varied animal care experience. My pets love her and I recommend her to everyone I know !
Gretchen is arguably one of the most loving and attentive dog owners/carers that I know, I have known them for many years now and have seen the way she prioritises the comfort of her dog Goose over her own and how she has interacted with other dogs around her. She is responsible, capable and has treated my dog as if he were hers. I trust her to ensure the safety and happiness of my dog whenever I’m away.

I have a fenced in, private garden with a sizeable piece of turf as well as some yummy dirt and grass to snuffle in. I also have a very relaxed 5.5kg dog named Goose, who very much enjoys company and relaxing with other pooches. I am not far from a variety of parks as well!

It is important we are open and honest with each other so I can give your dog the best care possible. Sharing things honestly about their recall training, reactiveness, or fears/anxieties/triggers is extremely important so that I can help your dog have the most comfortable and constructive time possible. Of course knowing any allergies, or sensitivities as well is extremely important. So long as you feel you can be 100% honest with me, just know there will be no judgment- I am a fellow dog owner too!
A typical day
I love to got Abney Park, and Clissold Park, as well as walking around the quiet, surrounding neighbourhoods. There are plenty of enrichment activities we can get up to, snuffling outside or in recycled material to find snacks. We can do trick training, group walks, recall work etc. And o course we always need to make sure there is time to snuggle.

I am currently working part-time and freelancing, so I have a flexible schedule in terms of dog walking and dog boarding. Bonus if your dog likes other dogs so my pup, Goose can come along!
