Pet care experience
I have always loved animals and from a young age friends and their families trusted me to take care of their pets. Working at a doggy daycare gave me a wealth of experience in supervising safe play between dogs of all sizes and temperaments. At the same time I volunteered at the SF Animal Care and Control, where I became an expert in calming nervous dogs. I can feed and medicate dogs, and I have experience handling dogs with disabilities and keeping them safe, happy and healthy. For six months I was the sole animal caretaker at an animal sanctuary (One Living Sanctuary). Overall I have cared for dogs, cats, rodents, fish, birds, and various farmed animals. I'm a responsible and punctual student, and I am excited to turn my talents and passions to caring for your fur-babies!

Gretchen has walked our dog multiple times now and each time, she has been very professional and knowledgeable. She is very gentle and patient with our dog, who is very nervous around strangers and other dogs. Highly recommend Gretchen and I will continue to book her!
Gretchen was a great cat sitter! I had never left my kittens before and she was so great at taking care of them and playing with them. She was also very communicative with me, the worried cat mom. The cats really liked her and it definitely made it easier for me to be away. I will definitely book her the next time I need a cat sitter.

I need to know how friendly and outgoing your dog is so I know how to approach them, and if it's okay to let them interact with other dogs (under heavy supervision, of course). Though I'll only be watching your dog(s) at a time, I will need to know beforehand if it's okay for them to interact with any other dogs we may come into contact with on a walk. COVID-19: I avoid putting myself, or any of my friends and family at risk. I'm good friends with seniors and immunocompromised folk--as such, when meeting face to face, please wear a mask AND try to maintain a 6ft distance as much as possible. I will do the same. Thank you!
A typical day
I'm a big fan of parks for both humans and their pets. If there's any park nearby I would love to go exploring with your pup! If they're not up for it we can play fetch, or tug-of-war--whatever they (and you) want.
