Two Caregivers Who Love Dogs

Hi, we're Gretchen and Patrick! We're a couple who love dogs. Both of us grew up with pets and have had dogs of our own for years. We have two large rescue dogs, June and Maggie, and are experienced doggie foster parents too, working with two local rescues. We're used to having four-legged guests. Our dogs play very well with others and are also great teachers to younger pups. Our goal is to care for your pet the way you would care for your pet. Dogs are truly part of our family, and we welcome yours to come and stay!

Asher was so happy with Gretchen and Patrick! They were flexible to work with and quick to respond. I appreciated the photos and videos to let us know Asher was doing great and having fun with their dogs. We have already booked with them again!
They did an amazing job with our doggo for the weekend and sent so many fun updates with pictures!! Didn’t have to worry once that our dog was in good hands while we were gone!

Safety & Environment We have a large fenced in yard that’s great for running around. We also have a backyard pool, so if your dog likes to swim, we’re happy to let them join in the fun during the summer months. We always monitor when dogs are in the yard; when they’re outside, one of us is out with them at all times. If your dog uses a crate, we ask you provide one at drop-off. Please also bring any special items your pet might want, like a bed or blanket they like. No plush toys please - our dogs will destroy them and eat the evidence! For the safety of our dogs and yours, we feed all dogs separately from one another. We also do not take bookings from anyone with an incomplete Rover profile. We have experience caring for senior dogs and special needs dogs including administering routine medicine, oral and syringe.

It's important for us to know ahead of time that your dog is good with other dogs, since we have two dogs ourselves. We'd also like to know if they are aggressive in any way, particularly in situations involving toys or treats. We would also like house and crate training information, including whether or not your dog is house trained, if they stay in their crate and when, and how often they typically need to go outside to use the bathroom. Please also tell us any other pertinent information like medications, allergies or any other special needs. If you’d like to let us know any any commands or tricks your dog knows or is working on, we’re happy to keep it up!
A typical day
We take spoiling dogs very seriously, but take rules and boundaries seriously too. We're happy to to have dogs curled up on the couch if they're allowed, or to enforce whatever rules you have at your home. We have a fenced in yard that's great for playing, and a huge basket of dog toys that our pups happily share (as long as yours does too), and there are three dog beds around the house your dog can snooze in as much as they wish.

Availability
Daily Care, Routine & Schedule: Caring for our dogs (and yours!) is woven into each of our days. We are both returning to in-person work, and a couple of days a week are away for about 6 hours. During most weekdays, we can let dogs out every 2-3 hours and can supervise them the whole day. We go on walks with our dogs, and can with yours, every day (pending weather or other extenuating circumstances). On most days we can provide a walk for your dog up to 1 mile, but please let us know if yours needs less or more. On weekends we usually stay pretty close to home and love having doggie guests. There may be periodic times on the weekends when we are both away from the house for no more than a few hours. If this is an issue, please let us know ahead of time.
