I have both personal and professional experience taking care of a wide array of furry friends. I grew up on a ranch taking care of our dogs, horses, cats, and birds! Friends and neighbors trusted me to care after their animals as well. During my second year of undergrad here at UW-Madison, I worked at The Dog Den (a local daycare and training center for dogs). Here I was trained in dog body language, intervention techniques to avoid a dog going over threshold, and how to interact with dogs who are shy or unsure of some humans. At daycare, I was in charge of up to 30 dogs at one time so I know how to maintain peace and harmony! I assisted in training classes for obedience, shyness, puppy socialization, loose-leash walking and more! I loved helping owners and their dogs of all ages improve their relationship. During my year of employment here before moving on to a more Psychology-focused job (my degree), I was PACC-CPACP certified. This means I am a Certified Professional Animal Care Provider who is ALSO certified in dog CPR and first aid. I also worked at The Puppy Den, a location specifically for puppies to learn proper socialization. While your pet is with me, they are in the best of hands. I can even introduce them to some obedience training if you are interested!
