Energetic Girl 4 Energetic Pets!
Pet care experience
I'm able to immediately match the energy of whichever pet I'm sitting or walking. If you've got a little furball bouncing off the walls, I can ensure I'll be right there bouncing by their side, maximizing their fun and entertainment. In the same way, if you have a stoic, reserved pet, I'll be sure to be right there maximizing their comfort and needs. If there's one thing i know, it's a pet's energy.
Reviews
Greta is without a doubt a sweet soul with animals of all kinds, especially dogs & cats in particular. From first hand experience, I've seen her treat any animal like it was her own (given that she's had pets herself in the past including one from back home who she considers her sweet little prince, who is shown off on a coffee mug of hers that remains special) & is quick to make friends with the furriest of pals. Without a doubt, I consider Greta a prime example of what it means to be a loving & caring pet caregiver.
I am Greta's mother. My own 12 pound male Jack Russell terrier mix rescue was 11 years old when Greta was born, and while she didn't take care of that dog much (occasionally providing food, water, and treats as she got older), Greta grew up learning about caring for a dog and how to behave around them. She also experienced the aging and passing of that dog, and observed for the first time how to care for an elderly dog. The next family dog was a one-year-old 21 pound female Jack Russell terrier mix rescue, adopted when Greta was 8 years old. With that dog, Greta first had responsibility for letting the dog in and out of the backyard (and helping her to run off almost-puppy energy!), often taking her for walks and providing her food, water, and treats. We had a pool, so while the dog knew how to swim (even though she hated water!), Greta learned to always keep an eye out for where the dog was when access to the pool was open. Greta was also recipient of that dog's protection - that dog was always very nervous when Greta was in the pool, and always on the ready to jump in to "rescue" Greta - so Greta became familiar with this and other canine instincts. Lastly, five years ago, Greta and I together adopted a then-8 year old, larger-than-normal, male Shiba Inu, who had been rehomed at least twice and needed significant, intensive, and consistent training and reinforcement. Greta has been actively involved in all aspects of care, including playtime, grooming, vet visits, yard clean up, and reinforcement of obedience and purpose training through walks and visits to pet-friendly locations. She was also the Shiba's primary "human" until she moved to PA in 2021. Because of general anxiety and the initial behavior issues, the Shiba has needed a lot of love and patience, and Greta has seen first hand that dogs - especially rescues - sometimes need a lot of work, but that adoption of any dog is a commitment for the life of that dog. In summary, for nearly all of Greta's life, she has had a role - with increasing responsibility - in loving and caring for dogs throughout their lifespans.
