Pet care experience
My dog at home is on several medications (pills, formerly eye drops and ear drops), so I have lots of experience with giving those. Since I was a little kid, I've loved animals of every kind--as in, if I could safely do so, I would absolutely run up and pet any animal, with the notable exception of worms. And possibly centipedes. As long as it's not a worm or a centipede, I will do my best to take good care of it (and if it is one of those, I will take care of it, too, but I won't pet it.). I have pet-sitted for both dogs and cats in the past, and I'm comfortable going on long walks or spending time playing outside/inside.

Greta was great with our little Hershey! Thank you for taking care of her while we were away!!

Safety, trust & environment
I will typically check food and water when I arrive at the home, refilling water as needed, and refilling food around times specified. I'll also do a quick check for accidents in the house as I get the leash, and then I can take the dog outside. Depending on the dog's needs (I've had the most experience watching adult dogs), I can either take them for a walk or play in a backyard. If the yard has a fence and the dog is used to running around on its own, I will keep watch as they play, and make sure they don't get into anything unexpected (my dog at home is bad about eating random plants, so I've gotten used to keeping an eye on where the nose goes). For cats, I will change the litter as frequently as needed (typically I'll do this after checking food and water). If there are any medications, I will give at the time specified.
Information Greta H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, including specific meal setups, pills, treats, or has trouble with things like thunderstorms or fireworks. This helps me to care for your pet to the best of my ability.
A typical day
I love to hang out with your pets as I visit. If your pets like to play, I will find toys and play with them for a bit, especially if they are energetic and I am only doing dropins.

Availability
*CURRENTLY FULLY BOOKED FOR OVERNIGHT VISITS THROUGH REST OF SUMMER* I am currently an intern at the Schiele Museum in Gastonia, from 9-5 a few days a week. I can typically visit mornings and evenings while at work, or multiple times a day on my days off. I try to keep my Rover calendar up to date with when I am off. Additionally, I'm moving back to college in August (out of state), so I will not be available in the fall.
