My husband and I both grew up with dogs but don't want to commit to owning one right now. Our 2 year old daughter loves them too so I'd like to expose her to dogs as well! I stay at home during the day to care for our child so we have plenty of time on our hands to play, walk, and care for a dog. We have a backyard, but it is not fenced in so dogs will be supervised outside on a leash at all times. Please make sure your dog is used to small children! She's a cautious child and gentle with animals, but I don't want to risk her safety. If I leave the house the dog can stay in the laundry room until I return. All cabinets with chemicals or cleaning supplies are locked off and we have baby gates to contain my daughter downstairs. We're already dog proof!
