UW Dubs’ Handler and Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
I’ve had dogs my whole life, and am currently a student handler for the University of Washington’s live husky mascot, Dubs. Because of this position I have had formal training, including in positive reinforcement and high stress situations. I am responsible for Dubs’ safety and keeping him in a good mood at a variety of events, including football games and photo shoots. I have taught his tricks to my family’s young German Shepard, and also trained my family’s senior Golden Retriever through middle school and high school, and maintain both of their training. I’ve grown up with horses as well, so I know how important excellent care and attention is to all living animals.
Reviews
Grace was amazing with communication and the care she provided our two dogs. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter because I know we will call in her services again when needed.
Grace was such a wonderful dog sitter for our Aussie and would highly recommend her! She sent updates often, communicated well and most importantly our dog loved her! We will continue to use her for future help for our dog :)
Fantastic! Could not be better. She house sat for our 1 dog and 3 cats. She balanced it all very well. Great communication before our trip, during it, and on on our flight home. She followed directions really well, asked appropriate questions that I forgot to put in the care instructions - in other words - she's on top of it! Came home to very happy crew of our animals with a very clean home. Would highly recommend, Grace.
Grace has been walking my senior dog for three weeks now. She's super sweet, responsible, and quick to reply to messages. I'm happily rebooking Grace for many more walks. Highly recommended!

Being responsible for Dubs, I know how important it is to care for other people’s animals exactly as needed. I also appreciate the different routines each dog has, so as many instructions as you wish to give me to care for your dog, I will absolutely follow!
Information Grace M. would like to know about your pet
Just let me know if your dog has any behavioral issues/triggers so I can be prepared for what to expect. Also if your dog has any important cues associated with that or just in general!
A typical day
I make sure to stimulate dogs by playing with them, petting them, and spending as much time with them as possible. I’m very active, so if your dog likes to exercise I’d love to do that too!

Availability
I am a student at the UW, but only have class once a week and am flexible. I do get booked for events with Dubs, but they’re usually shorter time commitments. I also am a part time tutor, which only takes up a couple of hours on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
