Veterinary assistant & dog trainer

Pet care experience

Dogs✅ Cats✅ exotic pets ✅ small animals ✅ large animals ✅ We're Grace, and Iwi. I work full-time as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital, and I privately train dogs in addition to loving on pets who's people need some help while they're away at work or play. Iwi is my owner-trained service dog. If you're looking for someone to give you total peace-of-mind while leaving your furry or scaly friends at home you've found the right match! I pride myself on creating a positive environment for all of your animals, caring for any and all special needs. I have a deep understanding of animal behavior and communication, from a lifetime of caring for animals personally and professionally. Due to COVID-19 I am returning to pet sitting as a tertiary income source. I am asking new clients to meet in a park nearby your home, with masks and social distance protocols to discuss details and ensure a good fit before booking. Note: *Will NOT work with DOG AGRESSIVE DOGS* this is to protect my service dog, as she is my medical equipment. *extra charges may apply for extra services such as behavioral modification or obedience training.

Grace is a sweetie and great with dogs, knowing their behaviors, and excellent with training. Iwi is very well-trained and a real sweetheart, too, and her and my Gracie had so much fun together. I would definitely have them come petsit again.

She is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. She watched over our dogs while we got married and she sent us constant updates and photos of our fur babies. She’s so great!

Grace and Iwi are amazing!!! Grace is very dependable and professional and her dog Iwi is so sweet!! Grace was sensitive to Bailey’s needs (our dog) as well as our needs. This was the first time we had to leave Bailey and we were very nervous. Grace instantly put our minds at ease. She’s a wonderful communicator, Grace is quick to respond if we had a question or needed an update and didn’t hesitate to reach out if she had a question. We also have a bearded dragon and she did not have any problem taking amazing care of him as well. We will absolutely use Grace in the future and we would highly recommended her to care for any of your precious pets!

Grace was great with our two dogs. She came and stayed in our home. We had a wonderful long weekend away, mostly because our dogs were so well taken care of. Thankful for Grace.

Medical and behavioral history, contact info for primary veterinarian, emergency contact, and all medications, food, and special toys or treats. Any food allergies or sensitivities, and a little bit about their personalities. I do not discriminate by breeds, but I have a few favorites. Mostly large, active, working dogs. Before walking your dogs, they must meet, and behave well with, my Service Dog. If I assess your dog to be reactive or aggressive, I will only continue working with them if owner agrees to dog being muzzled

A typical day

We will make a plan with you before setting a route or area. Options include: walks around your neighborhood, hiking, and trips to the dog park depending on age, social skills, and trail manners. I am happy to provide additional training at additional cost.
