Pet care experience
I have years of experience taking care of my own, family and neighbor's dogs and cats, as well as over a year on Rover. I have cared for puppies, elderly dogs and dogs with special/medical needs, as well as cats who like new humans and cats who prefer their privacy. During my undergraduate studies I took two courses on dog psychology, led a club focused on dog psychology and am passionate about positive reinforcement!

Our dogs always seem happy when we come home from work, we know they were well loved and cared for. We love the cute photos Grace gets of our fur babies. We are so sad she is moving away and won’t be able to watch our dogs. We would definitely recommend her if you are looking for someone to check in on your pets.

We love the pictures Grace sends us during the visit. Our fur babies look so happy. Grace has come over a few times to check on our 2 dogs. When we get home from work they seem a lot more happy and less stressed on the days she has come to see them.
Grace was great! We originally set up an extra check in visit so she could meet our dogs to make sure they would be a good fit. She was really sweet and didn’t charge us for that visit since it was more of a meet and greet. Our dogs really seemed to like her. She sent us pictures and let us know how the visit went. We will definitely be asking her to watch our pups again :).

I am very aware of safety concerns when entering an animals space, bringing them outside their home, being near or playing with other animals, and being mindful of areas for potential escape in backyards. Your pets health and safety are my first priority.

Please let me know if your dog has any allergies, medications, special likes or dislikes (ex: loves being scratched behind the ears, hates being picked up), gets along with other dogs, or has a preferred walk distance. It is very important to me that I know all about your pets specific needs so that I am able to best care for them!
A typical day
Knowing how important sniffing is for stimulation (new smells tire dogs out even more than long runs) and brain health, I allow lots of sniffs along walks while being mindful not to allow any attempts to grab a snack off the street. Fetch, visits to the dog park, walking along the lake, tug, and belly rubs and simple training using positive reinforcement (please note I do not have specialized training, only experience using rewards and attention/removal to teach basic commands) are all things I will happily do with your dog depending on your preferences.

Availability
I work afternoons and evenings on weekdays, so I am available mornings, early afternoons, and weekends. I am excited to spend time outside on walks as well as time playing with, snuggling, or giving good behind the ear scratches to your furry loved one.
