We left our two Rhodesian ridgebacks for 7 days. The drop off was very cold with little interest for the dogs and their needs. We received few updates and few photos of the dogs on the outside patio. At the time of pick up, she told me our 10 year old got stuck under their trailer the day before and cut his ear, which was full of dried blood. Our dogs have been around loading trailers, horse trailers, travel trailers since puppies and travel by rv about 4-5 months out of the year. They have never tried to go under any trailer and are too big to do so. Upon arriving at home, I cleaned his ear off and saw there were punctures on the inside- showing a bite from another dog. He also had two scabs. I would have preferred an honest story about what had happened. Both dogs were not themselves, filthy, inside the ears were covered in thick dirt, their dog food box was also covered in dirt and sand and their bed as well. I can only assume they were kept on the outside patio day and night. This is our fifth experience with Rover sitters and our first bad one. Unfortunately, our other sitters no longer provide services or have moved. I don’t know exactly what happened, but we will definitely NOT be returning to Giovanni.
