Animals Are Family / I Work Remote
Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Ginny and I absolutely love animals. My childhood dog was a Black Lab named Max who inspired me for life. He was the best dog who lived and when he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2002, he left his prints on my heart forever. In 2005 my mom got a Lhasa Apso puppy named Summer. I helped raise her, potty train her, bathe her and walk her. She was with my mom until she was 16 years old. My sister also has two Calahounds who I used to sit for as well. I am looking to make new fur friends and other friends too. I’m looking to help and be of service to others. I am a child and pet Advocate and work with many rescue animals. Please take a look at my images because I love all the babies I sit for. I’m excited to help you! I’m looking forward to meeting your fur family!
Reviews
Ginny stayed in our home with our dog and 2 cats for 7 nights. We specifically looked for someone who worked from home and had great reviews. During the meet and greet, we let her know that we do not leave our dog for more than 4 hours at a time and she agreed that that would be no problem (our care instructions also say this). She assured us she would be here all week. After returning to many more accidents than usual (and cleaning for several hours), I reached out to ask whether she stayed here all 7 nights. She assured me that she did. Our driveway cameras showed that there were 3 nights that she did not stay overnight. In fact, there were periods of 8, 10, even 12 hours that she left our dog alone. In one stretch, she was here for 30 minutes in a 19 hour period. When I mentioned the driveway cameras, she accused me of stalking her and suddenly remembered that she did not stay 3 nights of the 7 she was paid to do so. She insisted that only 1 night was her fault as something personal had come up. She never communicated any of this to me - if I had known she had to leave, I could have made other arrangements for someone to come in and cover. She blamed the 2nd night on the house being hot (the bedrooms are on the second level and we’re cool - it was the downstairs A/C that had an issue). The 3rd night she did not stay, she said she had gotten sick cleaning up an accident that one of the cats had on the couch. I can only imagine this was due to stress, as he’s never done this before. When I asked for a refund for the 3 nights, she insisted that only 1 night was her fault and refused to refund me for the other 2. Honestly, I was less concerned about the money and more concerned about the lack of care that our pets received in addition to the deceit and lies. Overall communication was awful. We received no updates or pictures during the week and when I asked her about the stay after the fact, I felt her attitude was accusatory and unprofessional. We’ve used many Rover sitters in the past and have always been pleased with their care. In good conscience, I cannot recommend Ginny.
Ginny saved the day! We had an issue with the sitter we initially booked, and Ginny was able to step in and take over. She took great care of our home and dog.
Ginny was easy to work with and professional. I knew our dogs would be well cared for while we were gone. Very happy we chose Ginny to house sit with our dogs!
Our dog had a great time with Ginny!! She was kind, attentive, and always made sure to keep us updated on what was going on with her. She also took great care of our home while she stayed over. It can be stressful leaving a pet and we knew that with Ginny our pup was in good hands.
