Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Ginger and I love animals. It is my mission to treat each animal I care for with the same love, respect, and attention that you treat your own. I know your dog is more than a pet, they're family and I'm a sitter/walker who treats them as such. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your wonderful animal companions. I love pets and have been caring for, training them, and loving every moment since I was 12. Caring for animals is my life passion and it is the reason why I am currently perusing, becoming a veterinary technician. I have a year and a half college education in Animal Health. My knowledge of animal biology and health, combined with many years of experience with animals, allows me able to understand your pet's specific needs. I can spot health issues in otherwise healthy pets, spot behavioral problems, and keep your dog out of dangerous situations. Some of these things other casual sitters may miss. I also have experience caring for geriatric and disabled animals. If your animal has certain sensitivities I can pick up on them right away. For instance, many dog sitters use crates as means of transporting dogs in their cars. But a better option is dog seat belts. In crates, dogs will tend to get smashed to one side of the crate if the car comes to a very sudden stop or crash. Dog seatbelts attach to a dog's harness and are a safer alternative. They also cause less anxiety in dogs that dislike being confined in tight spaces. Another example, dogs are very skilled at hiding pain or illness, this is a natural preserving mechanism that all dogs have. It also happens to be why many people come into a veterinary practice once a health problem has reached boiling point; instead of possibly preventing it in the first place. I can look out for any issues that need to get looked at before they get worse. Getting a health problem solved before it gets out of hand can save you a lot of money at the vet. I am well versed in caring for animals with extra health needs, who are geriatric, and who are very young. I can watch all types of personalities and activity levels: the mellow dogs, the very hyperactive dogs, the playful, the solitary types, the teeny tiny and the gentle giants. I've owned dogs and cats for the better half of my life and I've looked after others' pets for nearly as long. If there are any problem behavioral areas that your dog has, I can help, if you'd like. I am very knowledgeable in positive reinforcement behavioral training. If you are currently training a certain behavior or trick, I can help by continuing training sessions during the visit with no extra charge. All walks and visits are one dog at a time unless you own multiple dogs. This ensures your dog gets the individual approach that is right for them. I'm looking forward to being the ideal dog sitter for your busy schedule.
Reviews
Our cat was in great hands with Ginger! We received quick response to communication and loved getting photos of Burt with every visit!
Ginger was very good with Shelby and was very consistent with the time he arrived, the length of walk, providing pictures and Rover cards. We appreciated the extra information Ginger shared with us about Shelly's health.

Information Ginger N. would like to know about your pet
The most important things for me to know about your dog before I watch them are: their Name, Breed, Gender, Temperament, Personality, and Activity Level, Health Conditions, Allergies, Medications currently taking, and Frequency of Medications taken. The more I know the better I can take care of your fuzzy family members.
A typical day
Do you already have a park that your dog loves to go to? Or would you rather send your dog on a new adventure? I prefer to keep my dog walking specific to your dog's needs. Some dogs need a more rigorous walk with difficult terrain. Yet others need an easy stroll through a paved park. Some are social and want to go to dog parks, others prefer to be by themselves. I do my best to make sure your dog's individual needs are met. I send every client photo updates and if you wish video as well.
