Hello! Most of my experience comes from growing up on a farm in Virginia and spending a lot of time around all sorts of animals: goats, rabbits, cats, and of course, dogs. We've always had at least one family dog at a time, and I'm well-versed in the practices for puppy care, dog-walking, safety, training, and playtime. We've had large dogs (Dobermann/Rottweiler mix, Vizslas), medium sized dogs (Beagle), and our current little Mountain Feist/Jack Russell (Jenny) who is sitting on my lap. I'm comfortable with more timid dogs, as most of ours have been rescues. I'm also comfortable with difficult or mischievous dogs, as Jenny has some small dog inferiority complex tendencies. I've been mostly working from home since 2020 and would be able to provide dog walking services during lunchtime some days as well as anytime in the evening (after 5pm). I can also work from your home if boarding services are required, which would be preferred because my apartment unfortunately does not allow dogs overnight. In a client's home, I would expect to follow all the same guidelines that provide their pet the most equivalent experience to their normal routine and habits. I love spending time with dogs, but am comfortable adapting my interaction to the specific nature of each pet because all of them have different personalities. Establishing a relationship of trust and reliability with the dog goes a long way towards creating a safe environment For dog walking, I have strong road-safety and traffic pattern awareness, built largely out of necessity from being a pedestrian and biker in Boston/Cambridge for the past 4 years. I am very familiar with many parts of the city and surrounding areas. Very new to Rover, but hoping to make some furry friends here. Overall I really miss being around doggos and would love to spend time with yours!
