Veterinary behavior technician

Pet care experience

I currently work for a world renowned veterinary behaviorist. Previously I was the lead technician an at animal hospital and prior to that I was a supervisor at an animal shelter. My whole life has been devoted to caring for animals. I am a vegan and also volunteer at a farm sanctuary with cows and pigs that have been rescued from slaughter. I will treat your fur baby as my own and can assist with administering medications and offering guidance on basic behavioral questions or reading dog body language.

Safety, trust & environment

I will do everything in my power to keep you pets comfortable and happy and am happy to follow any specific guidelines or care instructions. I have a large fenced in yard (although it is short so a large dog who’s a jumper will be taken out in a leash in my yard.) I also have a quiet neighborhood that is great for walks. If your pet stays at my home, they can either have free rein or be sectioned into an area of the house with a baby gate, or be kept in a crate. I have a 6 month old large mixed breed puppy who LOVES other dogs and will be the perfect playmate, as long as your dog is comfortable with him. I also have a care who is used to living with dogs but typically hides and keeps to herself. Because I work in animal behavior, my house is full of enriching toys and food puzzles that will keep your pet occupied and entertained. I also have a bird feeder in front of one of my windows where my dog and cat enjoy watching the birds and squirrels eat.

Information gina g. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about any special needs or unique habits your pet has. I strongly believe that animals, just like us, all have their own unique and individual personalities, stories, and preferences, and I want to make sure I do whatever I can to make your pet feel safe and comfortable.

A typical day

Because I work in animal behavior, I love doing enriching activities that challenge their brains or get them moving. Some of my favorite things are basic training, fun games (fetch, flirt pole, nose work games,) or using food puzzle toys.
