I am a 4th year veterinary student at UC Davis, and I have lived in Davis for 8 years. I went to UC Davis for undergrad and now am in my clinical year at their vet school. For the past 4 years, I have offered pet-sitting services and have watched and stayed with numerous animals. I can administer medications, walk dogs of any behavior, and can care for any age, ranging from puppies to senior care.

Gina has stayed at our house and watched my dog and cat several times. My cat has a heart condition requiring medication, and Gina is amazing at administering his pills. She walks my dog everyday, and sends me pictures of both of them frequently. I know my pets are loved and cared for while I’m away. Gina is definitely my go-to pet sitter.

I have a fenced yard, and there are no other pets in my house. The yard is big enough for going outside to potty/run around. I also have a trail right by my house where I can take dogs on walks/runs and have my own room where the animal(s) I watch can stay.

I like to know about any medications the pets are on, as well as any behaviors I should be aware of. I would like to know if the pet is allergic to anything, as well as any special needs they have. I also like to know the typical day in the life of the animal, as well as any special things they like. I also always ask where their primary vet and ER is in case of any medical emergency.
A typical day
I like to keep my dogs and cats stimulated physically and mentally. I like to walk the dogs that I watch on the nearby trail and play with them in the yard. For cats, I like to play with them using their favorite toys. I love petting and cuddling with all the animals I watch, they are truly the best companions to spend time with throughout the day. I also like to try out different tricks with the pets I watch, so I usually ask the owner if they have any special tricks or try to teach the pets something new while staying with them.

Availability
I go to the UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital for the day and rotate through different specialties every 2 weeks. My hours vary depending on the rotation and day, but I usually have enough time before and after to feed/care for the animals I watch. I can stay at the house with pets or board pets for people depending on their temperament.
