For as long as I can remember, I have had a profound connection with animals. I grew up with many pets and farm animals in my early childhood, including rabbits, ducks, chicks, birds, hamsters, dogs and cats. For 18 years I took care of my female poodle dog, Luna🌙. We adopted her when I was 7 years old; growing up with her was one of my greatest blessings. She taught me courage, patience and how to have fun, but most importantly, she taught me that love doesn’t need an exchange of words. She watched me grow up from 2nd grade all the way to getting into my dream Master’s program. We moved from Colombia together, she was my family, my longest friendship. About 4 years ago, her health began to deteriorate and she started requiring more frequent doctor visits, life-long medication and random ER visits. Looking after her in her senior years was a tough journey, but one I learned from and I’m grateful for because I got to go through it with her. Luna went to sleep peacefully on 4/28/2023.👼🏼🤍 I have a lifetime of experience taking care of animals, and specifically 18 years caring after my female Poodle dog. I have vast experience handling senior dogs, and understand the gentleness and extra care necessary to look after them. I have experience giving various kinds of oral medication as well as keeping track of dosages and times. My goal is to take care of your dog with the same love and care as I’d want my Luna to be taken care of.🩵 Fun fact: I am pursuing a masters in mental health counseling at NYU and hope to be able to provide animal-assisted therapy in the near future!
