Pet care experience
Hey! My name is Genevieve but I go by Charlie. I'm graduating this year from UC Davis and have 3 years in pre-veterinary coursework. My studies have included veterinary CPR, medication administration, and animal behavior. I've worked with UCD veterinary services, with wildlife in Costa Rica, and have loved animals since day 1. Let’s just say I have never met an animal that I didn’t immediately like and want to know more about. I had very large, somewhat wild dogs growing up and I believe this has helped me to connect with animals that have special behavioral concerns. I've worked with Rover since 2016 and have had experience with so many wonderful pets. Most dogs, especially young and energetic ones, need a lot of activity. If your dog is friendly with other dogs, we can hit the dog park together where they can romp around and play off-leash. I also try to make use of any toys they enjoy, and love a good game of tug-of-war!
Reviews
Charlie did a fantastic job taking care of our boys and staying in our home with them, and went above and beyond fielding some last minute requests made in the hustle and bustle of our holiday travel without hesitation. Our dogs are rescues with some behavioral quirks and are both high-energy; Charlie knew how to work with them and made us feel very confident that they were in good hands and we would not need to worry while we were gone. We came home to a clean house with happy dogs. We would definitely recommend Charlie!
Charlie does great with our 2 anxious dogs and is very communicative throughout the stay. We will continue to book them; they do an awesome job. Thank you!
I'm a repeat client. Charlie does a great job.
Great communication very professional, felt safe knowing they were there.

My general routine around pet care is to keep as close to their usual schedule as possible. This helps avoid stress and separation anxiety as your pet can keep its normal routine. Quirks are always welcome! I once looked after a cat whose owners would leave the radio on at night. He preferred hip-hop to classical and would become restless if there was no music. Every pet is special in its own way.
Information Genevieve S. would like to know about your pet
At a meet-and-greet, I want to make sure I can care for your pet to the best of my ability. I like to take a short walk with you and your dog to see how they behave outside the home and interact with the world before accepting a request. I'll need to know feeding times, how often your pet gets let outside on a typical day, favorite treats, medication information, and walking routes. I've found that keeping your pet on the same routine helps ease separation anxiety and leads to a better stay for everyone involved, and will ask specific questions about routine during our meet-and-greet.
A typical day
I love seeing that pets are happy and relaxed, so I like to ensure they are getting a good exercise-to-rest ratio. Every animal is different, but cats and dogs benefit from stimulating environments and interaction. In the Davis/Sacramento area, I take animals out for walks during the evenings to avoid the hot pavement in the Summer.
