Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Gemma, an enthusiastic animal carer who will love your dog as much as you do! I have lived, worked and played with animals, from horses to mice, since birth. Currently living with a house full of rescued animals, including a young Collie x German Shepherd, an even younger leggy rescue mutt, a ginger tomcat and a hand reared wild house rabbit. I happily extend my furry family to meet your needs. Whether life has got too busy to give your dog the exercise he or she needs or you’re jetting off on holiday, I am here to give that home from home care. Providing a tailored service to suit you and your precious companions is my joy. I am located within Horsham, West Sussex and extend my work within a 4 mile radius. I have a car with a dog grill and offer both group walks, on and off lead in varied locations catering to individual needs. My dogs will come out on at least one of the daily walks and are sure to tire out the most energetic playmates. The safety and happiness of animals of all species and size is my passion and priority. I look forward to meeting yours!
Reviews
Gemma was amazing looking after Logan, she took time to get to know him and understand his needs as he's a bit anxious. We left feeling confident that he was in good hands and appreciated the frequent updates we got about how Logan was getting on! It's obvious how much Gemma cares about the dogs she is looking after, and we will definitely use her services again when we next go away.
Gemma was great. Obviously caring and very experienced with dogs so we were able to enjoy our time away from them without worrying. Would definitely book her services again. Thank you so much!
Thank you for making their first stay away from us a good one!
Our dog Saartjie had a great time and came home very tired after a day at Gemma’s. It was so lovely to get photo and video updates throughout the day. We are very pleased and will definitely use GEMMA and her lovely mom’s services again

We are fully licensed with Horsham District Council and insured with Protectivity. We are both trained in Pet First Aid. Our home is large and suitably equipped to care for your dog. We offer regular doggy day care services and have two dogs of our own so your dog must be generally sociable with other dogs. We are a great environment for dogs to feel at home and make dog friends. We have plenty of areas where dogs can take themselves off for quiet time. Equally we have areas where dogs are free to play with each other in our home and garden and of course out on their daily walks. We don’t take on dogs that are not able to mix well with our dogs and our regulars in order to give all dogs in our care a positive experience. We have a large secure garden and 2 gates at both our back and front entrance to reduce the risk of escapees. Doors and gates are securely locked when not in use. Our home is at the end of a quiet close in a safe and secluded area of town.

Information Gemma C. would like to know about your pet
We cannot have flat-faced breeds (pugs, frenchies, boston terriers, etc.) for boarding or daycare as we have found it causes one of our dogs to be reactive. We also don't have greyhounds or similar in our home unless they are definitely safe with cats. I always do a trial meeting - and overnight trial for longer stays - before taking a booking as I need to be sure my dogs are happy around your dog and I need to know my cat will be safe around your dog. My cat loves dogs and is very used to them but his safety is our priority.
A typical day
I have 2 playful dogs that love playdates, are very well socialised, used to puppies and respectful of older dogs. If your dog has a lot of energy he/she will return home tired from our place! If your dog prefers a more relaxed life we have plenty of comfy nap spots. We have a large garden and we often go for long walks in Leechpool woods, otherwise we walk along the river and wooded areas around my home. Sometimes we walk at Chesworth Farm, Buchan Country Park or St Leonards Forest too.

Availability
This is my full-time business so the care of your dog is my main priority. Dogs are supervised 24 hours a day. My mum works with me so one of us will always be home to supervise guest dogs if the other is out. All able dogs are taken on a one hour walk in local woodlands each day. Puppies and elderly dogs are taken on shorter local walks daily, if that suits to their needs.
