Hi my name is Geilynn, I'm 25 years old and I am a medical student at Nova Southeastern. I have been on Rover for 6 years and I love it. I live in a big apartment that has an onsite dog park! I love animals of all shapes and sizes, so your pet will be receiving love and attention all the time. I had two dogs for 14 years. Unfortunately, they got sick so this gave me plenty of experience with senior dogs who need special attention and require medication so I am comfortable administering medications and shots. I understand how scary it can be to leave your dog with someone you don't know because I have been in that position. When I had to go out of town, I would board my dogs at a kennel but I was never satisfied because I knew that they were not getting the individual attention as they would at home. But now that I'm a dog sitter on Rover, I see how they would've been taken care of and I wish I would've made the decision to use Rover as a tool to find a responsible pet sitter. Having your dog stay at my house is just like having them stay at a pet hotel! I live in a very clean house, so pups should be clean when being boarded here. If your dog is used to sleeping with someone, they are more than welcome to sleep with me. If your dog requires daily exercise, I can take him/her to the dog park that my apartment complex provides and take them for walks around the neighborhood. If you prefer that your dog is the only one being boarded at the time, that is no problem, we can make that happen. I am very flexible with my schedule. Also a Meet and Greet is necessary at least 24 hours before the stay to ensure your pet(s) will have a safe and fun time with me. During the meet and greet, I request that up to date vaccination papers be brought so I can ensure that pets are healthy. Dogs must also be flee and tick free. I cannot board a dog at my house if they have flees or ticks because it runs the risk of the next dog being boarding here getting them. If there is no meet and greet or if I don't see vaccination papers, no boarding will take place. Before you book the stay with me, I will ask what time your pup will be picked up. If you pick up your pup before noon, there will be no doggy-care fee added. However, if you need to pick up your pet after 12pm (noon), a doggy-care fee will be added to the overall charge of the stay. Rover charges per night and not per day. I understand how loved a pet is and I will treat your dog just as if they were my own. I will send you pictures and updates while you are away for reassurance.
