Geena is a young, laid back person. She has a very calm, low key demeanor. I have 4 dogs, most of whom are anything BUT calm and laid back, but she did well with them. The most important attribute a dog sitter can have -- she was kind to the dogs and they were fed and their water bowl was filled and they were given their treats as she was instructed to and she stayed present in the home once she arrived which was a HUGE plus for me. She also cleaned up after herself very well...the dogs were more of a challenge since the weather turned raining which caused them to drag wet, muddy paw prints into the house and it didn't look like there was much of an attempt to clean their paws off at the door or else they just overwhelmed her and she couldn't keep up...again the most important feature of someone I am leaving my dogs with is they are kind to my dogs and she most definitely was that. My only concern, and this is what dropped her from a 5 star to a 4 star rating, was she was supposed to arrive at the house between 7 and 7:30 am on Saturday morning because the previous dog sitter was leaving at 6 am … instead she arrived at a little past 9:00 am and she did not communicate with me that there was any problem as to why she didn't arrive at the agreed upon time. (I had gone over this a couple of times with her in text and in person.) One of my dogs has to be kenneled when they are left alone so I didn't want this to be longer than necessary and plus she was the one charged with feeding them breakfast and that would have been around their normal breakfast time. She didn't recall that she needed to feed them, but I reminded her and the dogs got fed without a problem. My feeling is that perhaps my 4 dogs (3 of whom are rambunctious) might not have been a perfect fit with her more laid back approach but I think she'd do really, really well with a one or two dog household and I would recommend her for that. Also, having been the owner of a fearful aggressive dog in the past, I think Geena's personality and approach would work extremely well with a dog that is fearful as she does not get in a dog's face...trying to hug, pet and kiss them rather, she waits until they come up to her. An essential trait needed for an otherwise loving dog, but fearful of new people, new situations, etc... So in summary, a predominantly positive experience with Geena and she is a sweet, soft spoken young woman who will keep your dog(s') company and watch over them while you are away. I think her goal is to do everything you've asked her to do but she may need a reminder or two...
