Paws-a-tive Pup Person: Walk/Visit!
Pet care experience
Most people who know me well would describe me as part-dog. I've been volunteering at Guide Dogs for the Blind for nearly 2 years walking broods and studs. I was previously employed as a Veterinary Assistant/Pharmacy Tech at Madera Pet Hospital. Family & friends entrust their dogs to me when they vacation or have other situations requiring dog-sitting. I'm very open to walking and/or caring for dogs with special needs (medical, behavioral, emotional). Mostly, dogs help me feel grateful, and to live more in the moment. Within the next two years I intend to become a certified trainer and offer services with my eventual therapy dog. My professional background is in education and counseling psychology; this helps build strong, supportive connections with dog parents as well!
Reviews
Gavin has been very compassionate and works well with my senior female pug. He make sure he covers all bases with your needs and dog’s needs. Gavin is respectful and fast to respond with check-ins and making sure he does all to make sure your fur babies are cared for properly. He follows up to make sure all is going as planned from your first visit with him. My favorite is when he takes the time to take a pic or 2 along with a summary of how all went that particular walking day. I highly recommend Gavin!
Gavin is great with our pup! He’s very punctual, conscientious and empathetic. Rocky loves playing fetch with him!
Gavin is absolutely wonderful with dogs. He and I volunteer together at Guide Dogs for the Blind so I often see how much dogs love to interact with him. Gavin shows the utmost care for dogs' safety while also allowing them to be playful and have fun. He always puts their well-being first. I am 100% confident that any type of dog would be in excellent hands with Gavin.
I highly recommend Gavin as a pet caregiver! He has a huge heart for dogs and he is very responsible and kind. I am able to observe Gavin interact with dogs each week at Guide Dogs for the Blind. He knows all the dogs by name, he communicates with all of them, he plays with them, he is kind to them, and he gives 100% of his energy to them. You will not regret having Gavin care for one of your pets. You can trust that he will actively entertain your pet while making sure your pet is happy and safe.
