Pet care experience

I have worked with older dogs and potty training dogs and cats. I am known as the, “cat whisperer”’ to my friends and family. I have taken care of dogs and cats in all phases of life and training. Worked as “bear patrol” while employed as an outdoor educator for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management. During that time I had the opportunity to have hands-on experience with birds of prey, porcupines, turkeys, and endangered amphibians, fish and reptiles. I have a lifetime of experience handling everything from bathroom training dogs and cats to giving shots and medicines. I also have used my experience growing up on a 300 head chicken farm. Currently I am working with the Humane Society to trap, neuter, and return stray cats in our neighborhood. I board 3 different household’s dogs from time to time. I assisted occasional songbird, duck and turtle that had needed a touch of love. I combine the discipline of my time in the military with my life skills to care for all of the animals that I interact with. I am respectful with your time, property and your family members that you entrust to me.

Gary was thorough, on time and then some, very conscientous, and excited about spending time with my three senior rescues. He has a natural gift with critters. I enjoyed that I received the most detailed check-ins with him, including little maps of where he walked my dog. I came home to everyone happy and comfortable and that took a big load off my mind while traveling.

Gary has dogsat Yeti several times. She gets walks and attention. When she gets home I have to hear all about how she lives Gary and wants walks like Gary gives and how Gary gives her more attention than me. It’s good to know she’s well taken care of whenever she’s with “Uncle” Gary.

Our dog had a cross country car trip to Tempe. Gary was right there to exercise out her travel kinks. His dogs are large and small breeds. They were kind to their new house guest. When I over trimmed her nails Gary had supplies on hand to care for it. Gary is a long time animal companion and well versed in their care. I can say this because we had to be educated in how to keep our furr baby safe in AZ climate. Lois C

Gary is AMAZING with animals. He loves them and they can tell. I have seen him work with small dogs, large dogs, medium sized dogs, several different breeds, and the results are always the same. Mutual love. When I found a stray puppy roaming my neighborhood, I brought him to Gary. We wound up finding the owners, but the little guy was in no rush to leave Gary. His owners will have to step it up, now. Gary is a tough act to follow!

I am currently in a living araingment where boarding pets is not an option. There is a resident Sonoran Desert Tortoise who cannot be disturbed. Her name is Shelly.

Information Gary W. would like to know about your pet

Their stamina, if they charge cats, people, or bikes. These are important, as well as what is their favorite places and activities. I like to guage walks and play to their likes and needs. A tired pup is a happy pup.

A typical day

I love taking dogs on long walks. Especially to new areas. I should say that I like them to take me on walks. Their nose is the guide, BUT, safety comes first.
