Everyone calls me the dog whisperer

Pet care experience

I've cared for and owned special needs animals for nearly 30 years. I'm most at home around dogs, cats and other animals. I'm a big softy when it comes to animals! My first dog was a golden retriever and he was truly my best friend. Miles (named after Miles Davis) was the best buddy, and I knew that dogs would always be a part of my life. I spent more and more time around animals, learning as much as I could. I've never had professional dog training experience, but I have successfully trained my own dogs and other dogs. I think it's because I speak to them like they are my equal. That's how I treat all the dogs and animals I watch and care for. They are friends and family to me. I've worked with many breeds and sizes of dogs, including Retrievers, Setters, Pit Bulls, Dachshunds, Malteses, Bichons, Pomeranians, Beagles, Rottweilers, and more. I have one dog now, a fox-faced Pomeranian named Sunny and he's the love of my life. I will give your dog or pet the care, love, and respect that I give every animal, because that's what they deserve!

I wish I could give Gary 10+ stars. He was so kind with our anxious, scaredy dogs and took the time to get to know them before our trip. He sent pictures, made sure they took their medicine, and we could tell our dogs were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Gary for all your dog-sitting needs!

Gary has a way with dogs that will amaze you. He's the most caring, gentle dog lover I've ever seen. He becomes best friends with every dog he meets, and they all love him. He's watched my doxies (who never like anyone) and somehow converted them to like him as much as they like me! He is very attentive and seems to know how to handle every dog's mood, whether they are agitated, playful, or tired. If you have anyone watching your pets, it should be Gary!

Information Gary M. would like to know about your pet

I want to know what your pet's personality is -- what their likes are, how they have fun, what makes their tails wag, and of course, what causes them stress or anxiety (so we can make sure to reduce any possibility of those issues)! It helps to know the breed, if there are behavioral or medical problems, aggressive patterns, people / things they may not like or have an issue with, if they are crate / leash trained, how you reward them (not just w/treats but also tone of voice, certain commands, etc), and how you may show them they have done wrong (this is super important for pet care providers to know, so we can provide a seamless authoritative presence for your dog without risking problems for you later). It also helps to know if they have other triggers or allergies, or house / neighborhood rules they must follow.
