Me, dogs, and the great outdoors!
Pet care experience
I've had animals my entire life- at one point in a home with two dogs, 6 cats, gerbils, an iguana, and a fish tank. I've fostered puppies for the Maui Humane society, took all of my own dogs to obedience school (clicker training & peanut butter has worked wonders for my pup!). I'm an active person- who would love to spend time with your dog on hikes up the mountain at Ramapo Reservation- or an easy walk around the neighborhood- whatever's in their best interest.

Gary is a strong, dependable young man. He has owned dogs since his teen years, and understands and likes them. Gary would be capable of long walks with any size dog; he has always kept fit, including running long distances and cycling. He has a strong consistent work history, which shows he knows how to keep commitments. Gary is even tempered and intelligent. I have no doubt he could calmly work with any behavior issues that may arise. Plus he always 100% picks up after his own dog!

We have a big baby of a dog ourselves, who is about 6 year's old. He's a Staffie mix we adopted while living on Maui, and loves to make friends with dogs- young and old. He's incredibly gentle with small dogs and puppies (a consequence of being raised by an assertive older cat!)

Nothing much! Sammy gets along with all dogs, and my partner and I both love and enjoy being around animals. We'll treat yours like a member of the family from the moment we meet.
A typical day
I love to hike, swim, and generally be outdoors. I know dogs get the most out of play that stimulates both their mind and body- so I often will bring along treats, toys, and clickers with Sammy while we hike. We take long walks through our neighborhood- but our favorite places to hike are Harriman State Park and the Ramapo Reservation.

Availability
I run a grocery store- so my schedule is sporadic- but I'm often home when your dog needs a break the most. Outside of work, most of my time is spent outdoors- nearly 100% of the time with my own dog.
