I'll be best friends with your dog.

Pet care experience

I have always lived with dogs around me; whether my own or my family and friends', I have always been caring for a dog or puppy. I feel I have a strong connection with dogs and I love to meet new dogs and pups to play with them, teach them and love them. I will care for your dog as if it is my own and keep your mind at rest that he or she is in great hands. I strive to build a strong connection with any dog in my care in order to build trust and a feeling of companionship, which makes caring for them much more natural. As a sitter, I aim to entertain, teach and comfort your dog while in my care.

Gary, has been exceptional in taking care of my pet. Being that she is a golden retriever and pretty much a large dog, it is very hard to find someone that can control and show so much care at the same time. On top of that, he went above and beyond and sent me pictures without me asking, It was a very nice surprise! STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

Gary was great and Ace came home very happy. We were sent daily pictures and updates while we were on vacation and his puppy was there to keep Ace company during that time also. I will be leaving Ace with him again next month and will continue to ask for his help in the future. Andres R.

Gary was a great sitter the times we left our two dogs with him (one is 2 years old, one of 8 years). His patience with the dogs was very reassuring from day one and during the time we were away, he was accommodating, sent us daily updates and we came home to very happy pups!

Gary is excellent with dogs, with genuine love and care for all animals. He has done a great job in sitting and training my dogs in the past, and he was able to build a deep trust with them more quickly than expected.

A typical day

Below I describe the daily routine of my own dog Sox, this gives an idea of how I would care for your dog. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood. The first walk of the day is between 6am and 8am- I usually wake to see Sox staring patiently at me. When I walk any dog I always try to encourage the dog to walk calmly beside me with the leash not pulled tight, paying attention to my commands and gestures. I am careful when approaching other dogs, I make sure the owner sees me approach and I always inquire whether their dog is friendly or not before allowing the dogs to interact. During such an interaction I will try to control the excitement level and ensure the dogs don't get tangled up or injured. I feed Sox as soon as we get back inside, I have him trained to sit at the doorway while I prepare his food (He usually eats organic meal with with either fresh fruit or butternut squash) once the meal is ready he will wait for my command to eat. This may not be a possibility for all dogs but I always try this with any dog I feed. My dog gets walked again at 12noon, this is usually a brief walk in the summer as it can be very hot at this time and I try to prevent any discomfort for the dog. I usually give him a treat at this point such as some banana (he loves them) or his own treats made of sweet potato and chicken. I tend to play with Sox anytime he approaches me and I know myself when it comes to a new dog- I will be showering them with attention. We have a lot of toys and chewables for Sox so he is never bored, he is also very fond of cuddles so if he isn't playing around he is snuggled up on your lap. On my day off I would walk Sox around 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and finally the last walk is just before midnight. On my days off I feed Sox at 9pm. On my workdays I would be out from 3pm-1am so Sox won't get as many walks but he house trained so he will patiently wait for me to get home at which point I take him outside immediately and he gets fed as soon as he gets back inside. I hope this gives you an idea of my dedication to my dog's happiness and comfort- this I believe every dog deserves and I hope I can make your pet just as happy and content.
