Pet care experience
My wife and I have been cat parents for over 12 years. Over the last 20 years, I've helped raise and watch after fur-kids of my friends and family, along with my own. When I think about the animals in our lives, they are not "pets" to me, they are family members. My job as a cat-dad is to make sure Ms Truly is happy and safe, and I will do the same for your little family member. I love meeting cats and dogs (and sometimes their people, lol). Having been around cats and dogs all my life, I'm very comfortable reading the personality of animals and meeting them where they are. If they like the energy, I'm here for it! If they are calmer or shy, no problem, take all the space you need. My goal is to help them feel comfortable and keep them company.

Garrett will show your pet BIG LOVE while you are away! Garrett has a huge heart for furry friends of all sorts. In fact, when he was in college, he would visit the local animal shelter just to play with the dogs and give them time out of their cages. One time we went, there was a goat (a rather stinky one) that he payed extra attention to since he assumed no one else would want to pet it. Garrett sincerely enjoys playing, cuddling, and loving pets of all kinds. Your pet is in good hands when Garrett is around!

My process is to greet the pets first and give them a few moments of my attention to help them acclimate and make sure everyone is good, then get to work on making sure food/water/etc are taken care of. Once all the daily tasks are done, it's time to play and socialize as much (or as little) as they want. I typically like to take my time, and not rush in and out.

A typical day
I love engaging cats and dogs with their favorite toys. If it's a spirited game of tug-n-war with a dog, or chasing the laser pointer for a cat, I'm all over it. Having a young cat of my own, I know the importance of exercise and getting in movement.

Availability
I am an artist/musician and working part-time, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I am available weekdays, and weekends, for house visits. Some overnight stays would be possible, depending on my schedule.
