Loving family environment for your dog! Cambridge

Pet care experience

***First booking on Rover?*** get £15 off by using discount code GARETW63825 when you book with me**** Hello there, I'm thrilled to tell you a bit about our spot in Cambridge CB1, where my wife and I are ready to welcome your canine companion with open arms. Meet Dana, our lovely fox red Labrador. She's been a part of our family since she was a little pup and, at almost 3 years old, she's the heart and soul of our home. We reside in a cosy house on a peaceful street, and our garden? It's a good-sized, fully enclosed haven, perfect for some quality doggy playtime. Our neighbourhood is a dog's paradise too. Nightingale Recreation Ground and Cherry Hinton Chalk Pits are just a short stroll away, offering ideal spots for those essential daily walks. If your pup is up for a bit more adventure, Wandlebury County Park and Magog Down are a quick drive away. So, why consider us for your pup's stay? Expect regular updates and delightful photos through the Rover app – we understand the importance of keeping you in the loop. Safety is a top priority in our home, which is secure and inviting. Plus, your pup will have the delightful company of Dana, our Labrador extraordinaire. Now, a bit about my history with dogs. Growing up, we had a wonderful family mutt, and my grandparents had a spirited Jack Russell – a bit of a character and deeply loved. The other grandparents had a beautiful “Lassie” style Rough Collie with whom we spent countless hours playing. Meanwhile, my wife had a Bolognese during her childhood, and in the early days of our marriage, we shared our home with a wonderful Siamese cross cat. With Dana and my lifelong affection for our furry friends, rest assured that your pup will be in good hands. We bring a wealth of experience, love, and a warm environment to ensure your dog has a fantastic stay. Can't wait to meet your four-legged companion and create some wonderful memories together! 🐾

I booked Gareth for the first time to look after my two pugs for the weekend, I'm so happy with the service he provided for them and me. I got regular pictures and updates throughout the weekend, my dogs had a lovely time and really enjoyed themselves. I will definitely be using Gareth again in the future Thank you so much.

Thanks for looking after Tilly so well. Our first time using Rover for doggy daycare and we felt very confident that she was in good hands. We’ll be booking her in for future visits!

Our dog had a very successful first stay with Gareth and his lovely dog Dana. It was clear on first meeting Gareth that he understands dogs and can read their moods and needs well and is very calm and empathetic. Gareth's regular updates also showed he had got to know Monty really quickly and that Monty felt at home with him. I had been nervous about going abroad and leaving Monty with someone new, but relaxed quickly when I saw how genuine and capable Gareth is. When I dropped Monty off he went into the house tail wagging, keen to see Gareth and Dana again. He came back relaxed and happy, well exercised and well cared for. I would thoroughly recommend Gareth and will book again, thank you.

Safety, trust & environment

We live on a quiet, safe, street and our back garden is completely enclosed and inescapable with a six-foot fence and the back gate being locked and secure. Our back garden is backing into a small park/playground, so no road traffic at all! Additionally, we have two major parks (Nightingale and Cherry Hinton Hall), a chalk pit just a short walk away. Our female Labrador, Dana is very friendly and will welcome your pet with open paws :) She is super gentle and chilled. Our son is 12 years old and is a kind and caring boy who loves animals. If your dog is a bit of a loner and wants to be left in peace, we can accommodate this too - they can stay in another room or even in our cosy garden office (where my wife works) with regular or, if you wish, unlimited access to the garden.

Both my wife (who loves dogs as much as I do) and I work at home part time, and will give your dog plenty of attention. During your stay your dog will be well looked after in our loving family home and have plenty of opportunities for fun and stimulation, or as much peace and quiet as they like. Your pet will have as much doggy company as they like with Dana, who is our 2.5 year old fox red Labrador. Dana's a lovely dog who is very friendly, fun and gentle, and a bit of a clown (see photos). At least a couple of walks per day to the nearby parks is guaranteed! Let us know if you need us to carry on any behavioural training let us know, as we have experience in this and my wife had taken a whole course for that before we got Dana.
