Hello! We are Gailen and Shawn- animal lovers, dog walkers, and pet sitters with 10+ years experience and lots of positive references to match! We have shared life with many animal family members of our own over the years. Our last dog Sadie passed away shortly before our daughter was born in March 2021. So now we pet sit as a family! We’ve done it since month two of our daughter’s life and it’s been great exposing her to animals and vice versa! So please be aware we come as a tripod if we are staying overnight. We take animal care seriously and treat all animals and their families with respect and compassion. Gailen and Shawn work as a team. We are currently offering fun dog walks(on and off leash at your request), pet/house sitting at the client's home, and pop-ins to play/walk/check in/feed/administer medication for with pets at clients’ homes. There's nothing we enjoy more than being outside tromping around with animals! We recently moved back to Ojai from the Bay Area where we we’re walking dogs and pet sitting for years. Really great! She was able to meet me last minute, connected with the dog I needed help taking care with. One star minus due to her phone failing, so it kept me quite worried waiting for an update. She called as soon as she was able to.
Gailen has been a godsend many times in the past helping me with the dogs and cat for when I'm too busy (or lazy) to get them the exercise they need. She is a true animal lover and I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs some help with the pet obligations. Very professional and easy to deal with, totally reasonable rates. Five stars!
Gailen has helped care for my dogs for several years. Not only has she been a reliable dog walker, but she has even gone so far as to take care of my pets when I am travelling. Though I do not believe that her current living condition allows her to board pets anymore, the mere fact that she did should exhibit the level of trust and faith I have for her. When I was away, Gailen would sometimes walk my dogs up to three times per day, and she would even go so far as to send me photos of my dog having fun at the park or the beach. I would highly recommend her to anybody who needs help caring for their pets. She is more than just a fine care giver, she has become a friend to my animals and to myself.

A typical day
A typical day pet sitting day revolves around the animal/s. Wake up, let outside or on a short walk, then breakfast followed by an excursion to a favored spot (for senior or special need dogs we adjust our day or course). We generally like to get dogs out for 2-3 walks a day and always shower them with love. We will follow each clients guidance and preferences closely and pets will only be home solo for short periods if we need to help our mom/in law with something at her home in Meiners oaks.

Availability
We have lots of flexibility. We moved to Ojai to be close to our mom/in law as she is disable and needs assistance. For now we are focused on mom and our daughter, and Shawn works online on weekday evenings only.
