I have always had a pet in my life. Right now I have a 3-year-old Greyhound that gets along with all animals. Your dog would be in a stress-free environment and will be able to walk at least three times a day. I currently work from home so I'm always home. I currently take my dog out first thing in the morning for a potty break. Then when we get back I feed my dog. Around lunchtime I take my dog out for a long walk around my neighborhood, if I have time I will drive to a dog park and walk her there. Then in the evening, I take my dog out for a potty break. When we come home I feed her dinner. I have baby gates around my house to avoid any escapes. I also have a crate if needed. And there are plenty of dogs beds around my house.
