I write on behalf of Gabrielle I. But first, in an attempt to convince you of my sincerity and qualifications to serve as a reference, you should know who I am. I am an attorney who engaged in the private practice of law for 50 years and at the same time, served 34 years in the National Guard, attaining the rank of Brigadier General. For many years I served as the managing partner of my law firm, supervising up to 9 attorneys and 15 support staff. My position when I retired from the military was Chief of Staff, Illinois Air National Guard, running a staff of 50 plus officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel. In those positions I reviewed many resumes, interviewed many people for hiring and promotion, and did my share of firing. I wrote many letters or commendation and refused to write an equal number of recommendations. I know the importance of a positive and a negative recommendation, and I know that most people asking for a recommendation list only those sources that they think will be complementary. Now, let's discuss Gabrielle. First, she is my Granddaughter which means that I have observed her all of her life, and have had many opportunities to interact with her. Gabrielle has been raised with and has cared for dogs and cats all of her life; she has had experience caring for and riding ponies and horses as a young child; she has been entrusted with the care of pets belonging to family members; she has been entrusted with the care of her younger nieces and nephews. She has a loving and nurturing personality. Gabrielle's excellent judgement, good character, and reputation for truth, is beyond question. And, she has a very strong work ethic. If she takes on a commitment, she will always follow through. I have no doubt that Gabrielle will meet and exceed all of your requirements. She is a young lady who is determined and who will succeed.
