I'll jog with your dog!

Pet care experience

I grew up with two dogs, one medium size terrier and one small spaniel. I currently have a rescue mutt who we've owned for the past 3 years who goes with us everywhere, whether that's hiking, running, camping, or just for a nice long walk. I've also dog sat for the past 10 years for dogs of various shapes and sizes! I was a dog walker for 4 years as well in my hometown of Long Island where I handled walking for various dogs as well as house/overnight sitting and feeding/watering. I also have experience interning at an animal shelter where I helped out with animal care as well. I love all kinds of animals, and spend most of my free time around horses! I love jogging with dogs, going on long walks and short walks, snuggling with animals, and just being around them. I can't wait to provide your dogs with the care that they need!

She was amazing with Max. The place is beautiful, in nature, with a lot of places to play and walk. Their dog is so friendly. There was a very good communication, and they sent us pictures. We will certainly repeat with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle is a responsible compassionate adult who prefers the company of animals to most humans. She has taken care of dogs and horses since she was a child. Her ability to relate to the four footed world is wonderful. Anyone who hires her will be more then satisfied with the care she will give their four footed family member.

I care for pets in my home and my client's home as if they are my own. They're constantly supervised as I am home working all day, and I take all dogs out on walks twice a day. If they're up for a little jog, I'm happy to include them on my jogs and hikes! I have water out for all pups throughout the day, and they're fed on whatever schedule works for them. I also provide daily brushing if desired, and many, many snuggles (which is good for me and them!). I keep a variety of treats on hand, and I do allow animals on the furniture in my house. I have toys and bones available, but tend to keep them away unless the dogs are comfortable sharing. My dog, Newt, is my whole world, so I make sure to provide the same level of care to any dog in my home or another home as I know it can be nerve-wracking leaving your pup behind on a trip or vacation!

Information Gabrielle D. would like to know about your pet

I love to know any quirks or habits that you're dog has ahead of time. For instance, if they're not great at sharing toys, if they love to sleep on the bed, if they have any allergies, if they should avoid other dogs on walks or anything of the sort. I do have a 5 year old mutt named Newt whose very friendly, but I can keep dogs separated if that's an issue. I also love to know their schedule (for example, my pup goes for two walks a day and will not use the bathroom in the backyard, and he'll poop 2-4 times a day!)

A typical day

A typical day for me and the pups involves waking up early, usually around 6 or 7am, and eating a little breakfast. I have a doggy door that's open during the day, so pups are welcome to go outside before their first meal. Right after breakfast, we head out for our first walk of the day! I love to walk the trails around Eldorado, as there are loops from 1 mile to 5 miles right by me. Once home, we get lots of snuggles and then usually a little pup naptime while I work for a bit. Dogs can go in and out through the doggy door or be let out by me, and they get lots of love and attention throughout the day. Sometimes we take a trip to the dog park too! In the afternoon or evening (depending on whether), we go for walk number two which is usually either a jog/run or a hike in the basin or somewhere nearby. I like to take a nice long evening walk if I'm not running as well. Then we have dinner time and another potty break, and lots of snuggles on the couch while we play with toys, get groomed, or just enjoy each others company!

Availability

I currently work from home full time with a very flexible schedule, so pet care fits seamlessly into my schedule. I am a very active person in general, and go for a daily jog/run, hike, or long walk. I live in Eldorado, which provides access to miles and miles of trails to walk dogs on, and I have a fenced in yard for the dogs to sunbathe or go out in.
