Pet care experience
I get along with almost every animal I've met, particularly cats, but doggies who love to go on long walks are my special pals. I have tended to older dogs, dogs who've need to take meds and have needed their teeth brushed. I prefer to walk dogs one on one but I am capable of doing more than one dog especially if they know each other. I enjoy being active. I ride my bike virtually every day, and depending on where you are in the DC metropolitan area I can make it over to you via metro & bike. I even have a folding bike which I can board the metro anytime, even rush hour! I am looking forward to meeting your pet Thank you

Bernie is one of the best pet sitters out there. He takes such good care of our animals we feel completely comfortable when we go out of town knowing they are in his care. He provides the animals so much love and care, you would be silly going with someone else!
Bernie provides reliable, nurturing care to our fur babies (a 10-yo Rottie/GSD and 5-yo orange tabby). He takes care of our pets and home when we go on vacations. Our “girls” love him and greet him at the door whenever he comes to our home to provide care to them. He maintains an orderly house, retrieves the mail, lovingly walks the dog and plays with the cat, and generally dotes on the animals. His services are affordable and he is easy to communicate with. Bernie is our go-to pet and house sitter. We love him!
Bernie has watched our pets (two cats and one dog- all old and grumpy) for us on several occasions- including long and short trips. We love Bernie and the grumpy old men do too. He gives them plenty of love and attention and when we return they are obviously less stressed and angry than when we've left them in the past. Bernie is also always very flexible, which is great because we frequently forget to get pet coverage until the last minute! I highly recommend Bernie as a pet-sitter!

I have no breed preferences, I prefer dogs that are people friendly and not too addicted to their owners. The only dog I've met that is sheepish of me is my brother's dog. She responds to him & his wife solely. Sadly she literally barks at everyone. She is afraid, she was abused, they rescued her. I appreciate her loyalty and we have played together from time to time. I plan to win her over some day, but progress is slow
A typical day
Anywhere and everywhere! I love to see where the dog wants to go within reason, but then I will guide them back home. I like trails, but I am not averse to urban areas and neighborhoods
