Pet care experience
Hello, I’m Freda! I’ve been working with dogs since the age of 14, when I started volunteering at a local rescue centre. Since then I’ve met countless dogs of varying sizes, breeds and personalities, and have gained a lot of experience handling and caring for these pups. I love learning about behaviour, body-language and training, and spend a lot of time with my own dogs working on tricks and obedience. At home we also have ponies, rabbits, reptiles and birds, as well as temporary rescue residents. I'm well-versed with the care of a variety of species, and will be more than happy to care for animals other than your dog/s whilst doing house-sits and drop-ins.
Reviews
Feda was wonderful, was apprehensive at first as I'm a new customer to Rover. I had an immediate response from Freda and she came up to meet Bonnie and I the day before which was a lovely touch, Bonnie took straight to her. This allowed me to go away for the night without a single worry. Freda sent me some lovely pictures of their evening together, keeping me updated which I loved. I also felt safe with Freda having access to my home and being in it whilst I wasn't there. Very friendly lady, Bonnie and I can't recommend her enough. Thank you
Skipper loves his adventures with Freda. She's always super helpful and I can't recommend enough
Huey loved his outing with Freda, we will definitely be asking Freda to help us out again when Huey needs an outing or some company.
Skipper had a huge grin when Freda brought him back after his walk, he loves going to the beach. Freda was lovely as always. So a happy Skipper makes a happy mummy too! 🐾

Safety, trust & environment
I consider myself to be on-the-ball with training and behaviour, and will happily maintain routines with your dog, whether that’s short training sessions, down-time, or simply how you prefer to interact with them. I am super safety conscious and will take all necessary precautions to ensure that your pets are safe. I am a firm believer of keeping dogs on-lead unless they have bombproof recall. For this reason, all walks will be on-lead until we build a relationship and I can assess safety. However this doesn't mean they'll be boring! I love utilising long-lines as a training aid, allowing more freedom, and can either provide this or use one of your own. I currently offer house-sits, drop-ins & walks from your own home. Extra information: Dog Walks - these are from your home. For some dogs I can offer transport to a different location (ie beach, park), but this is on a case-by-case basis. This will also incur an additional charge to cover travel time and fuel. House sits - this includes 2 walks a day, from your home. The same as above applies re travel. The price stated for house sits is only applicable if I am able to leave for a short period of time during my stay. This would be discussed prior to booking, but usually means no more than 1-2 hours to nip out for food etc. If your dog requires 24/7 company, this will incur an additional charge.
Information Freda M. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know in advance if your dog has any quirks that will affect my time spent with them. I won't be put off by negatives, don't worry, it's just much easier if I know ahead of time! Things to include in your pet's profile: - their daily routine, especially regarding mealtimes, medication & toileting - their favourite activities, physical or otherwise - emergency contact details, including their vet and any friends/family members that could help in a pickle - any behavioural points such as reactivity, separation anxiety, resource guarding, overexcitement etc The more information you can provide, the better care I am able to provide!
A typical day
I will happily tailor activities to your dog. I love fun enrichment, so enjoy focussing on games that tire dogs out mentally as well as physically.

Availability
My time is split between small animal rescue work, and pet care services. I recently started my own business, called Freda's Creature Care (feel free to check us out on Facebook). I'm fully insured.
