Long Walks with Our Friendly Family
Pet care experience
We are a family of two parents, a six-year old, and a beloved family cat. After being dog owners for 12 years, we are wanting to have kid-friendly, cat-friendly dogs with us at home and on our long walks! We would love to meet your dog to see if you and your dog are a match for our home. Our family's house is cozy and safe, and well set up for dog guests. Our house is on a quiet block with friendly neighbors, and we can offer your dog time in our peaceful, accessible back garden. The dad will be the primary contact and spend time with your dog on days during the workweek. I am a trail runner and hill walker, with years of knowledge of the Oakland hills and trails to explore with dogs.

We were so happy leaving Frankie with Francisco & Sarah! They took such good care of her and she seemed really happy staying with their family. She got so much outside time and attention. We will defintiely leave her with them again.
Francisco and Sara are terrific hosts. On our initial visits it was immediately evident that our beloved dog would fit right into their household. They are definitely dog people, and our dog knew it right away. He made himself at home and they were very happy to have him. They sent pictures of their daily activities and posted updates. When we picked our dog up, I could tell that there was a reciprocal bond of appreciation. I absolutely recommend Sara and Francisco as Rover hosts.
Francisco and Sara live 2 blocks from me. They are gentle souls and kind with pets. Our rescue dog has recently visited their house a few times. She loves running around the backyard. Now every walk we take she pulls me towards their house. She really wants to get to the backyard! It’s super tough getting her home when she is within a block of their house.

We keep a close eye on the details and making sure visiting pups are loved! As a family, we attend to the needs of diet, hydration, medication, and good rest for canines in the house. If needed, we adjust the place of sleep or naps for the dog. We make sure that pet visitors have a chance to meet and be friendly with our 6-year old boy 12-year old cat.

We require dogs that enjoy and behave safely with children (we have one 6-year old) and that can be safe around our 13-year old housecat.
A typical day
We will take a morning walk and at least one walk or run in a nearby Regional Park. We will play fetch in our backyard. We will play music and/or sing, if your dog likes to be around ukulele playing and singing.

Availability
Dad works at home as a book editor: My day job takes place entirely in my home office, and I love to explore the beautiful hills and trails of Oakland. I always enjoy least one long walk or run in my daily routine. My home office, where I spend most of the time during weekdays, is on the ground floor of our home, with a door straight out to the backyard, so it is very easy for me to let dogs to in and out for relaxed time in the backyard. Every couple weeks I play live ukulele music and sing with friends, sometimes in our backyard or family room, which can be calming for dog guests.
