Pet care experience
I’m a graduate student at Penn and live just across the river from campus. My flexible schedule makes it super easy to run home in my time between classes. I live in a rowhome with a first floor patio and a second floor sunny deck. I also live a 5-10 min walk from the Schuylkill River dog park. I grew up with dogs and started dog sitting when I was in elementary school for neighbors and friends. I have taken care of many dogs at once, of all different sizes and breeds. I know the importance of their safety, comfort, and happiness when with a new dog sitter. I am comfortable following any instructions about specific diets or medications for your pup, too. I love having a dog around the house and would be happy to watch yours while you’re away!

I’ve used Frances as a sitter/walker for my dog many times in the past few years when we go away on vacation. She is very attentive to the needs of our dog and keeps us updated when we are away. She always treats him as if he were her own. She’s the best!
Frances is a wonderful dog sitter. I have a large rambunctious golden retriever puppy, Walter, and she is so caring, patient, and conscientious with him! He is not always easy but I feel so comfortable with him in her care. She's watched Walter both for daytime play/walks/feeding and for multi-day stays while I am out of town. I trust Frances fully and know that Walter will go on long walks, to the park every day, and get plenty of attention. Love getting picture updates of the two of them out and about! Puppies can be overwhelming, but nothing fazed Frances and she always had a smile on her face.
Frances took wonderful care of our dog! She is responsible, dependable, and kind as can be. We were so lucky to have her. Frances was easy to work with and went above and beyond to be a truly fantastic walker and sitter.
Frances is wonderful with dogs. She has walked my dogs for several years. They love her, and I know I can trust her to be kind to them and gentle with my home. Frances has tons of energy and can really give my dogs a workout. I highly recommend Frances!

I enforce the same rules in my own home as a client’s home. If your dog is allowed on couches in your home, I will allow them on the couch in mine. If your dog isn’t allowed on any furniture at all, the same applies to my home. I believe consistency in rules and training is extremely important. Before bringing a new dog into my home, I always make sure to put any food or chewable items out of reach. I think it is important to bring a few items from their own home, such as a bed, blanket, toy, so that the dog feels a comfort of familiarity in my home. In my client’s home, I make sure to closely follow directions as to what the dog is allowed to do, where it can go, and what/when it should eat. I make sure to take them outside regularly and check around the house for any accidents/destruction.

A typical day
I love going on walks around my neighborhood - the only thing that makes it better is having a dog to join me! I live in a pedestrian-friendly and dog-friendly neighborhood, so there are tons of scents to explore and parks to run around in. If your dog likes the dog park, I live a 5-10 minute walk from one of the best in the city! If not a dog park pup, there are plenty of other options - like walking along the Schuylkill River Trail - to get the daily zoomies out!

Availability
I currently have a fairly flexible schedule. I’m in grad school at Penn, which means I don’t work a typical 9-5 schedule. I’m usually in class 3 hours/day, with the rest of the day flex between home and school. I would love a dog-focused study break :)
