Hello there! I’m Frances, I am a friendly, experienced, mature and professional lady who loves and care for animals and always very sensitive to their needs! My experience is in taking care of: - Dogs, (young, old, playful, anxious, nervous, with lock down anxiety and who may be stubborn) - Cats of all ages and mischief - A variety of house plants, gardens & veggie patches. I am an experience trusted house and pet sitter and have been working both in the South West UK and internationally over the past 3 years. Over this time I have taken care of many adorable dogs and cats both in Australia and the UK. I have recently returned to the UK to live after living 20 years in Australia. I have chosen to continue house and pet sit as I love caring for animals and enjoy getting to know each and every one, treating them like my own. In addition I love to meet new people and explore new areas. I would dearly love to house and pet sit for you as I would offer your pets so much love, lots of cuddles, follow their daily routine, give lots of walks and play time and keep them safe. I will also take excellent care of your home and utilities including basic gardening including watering plants, mowing the lawn and weeding. I am interested in house sitting in the Somerset/ South West area of UK as this is where my family live and am available for sits of longer in duration from weeks to months. I am also available for weekend and midweek sits too. At previous housesits I have taken care of both dogs and cats in Wincanton, Exmouth, Bishops Lydeard and Glastonbury, Bristol, Somerset and Melbourne and surrounding areas. I am a qualified Art Therapist, Illustrator and Reiki Master and at one of my housesits I took care of two elderly siamese cats and as I was able to provide soothing energy healing to the cats which they loved!! As a keen walker, artist and photographer I will regularly send you photo updates of your adorable pets whilst you are away. Previously I have also worked as a live-in Nanny in America, I have supported children and adults with Art Therapy, have been a successful textile and carpet designer, along with loving working as a lecturer in Textile Design at University. I currently work as a self-employed therapist and illustrator so I am flexible with times and dates for bookings. This also means we can be adaptable to your pet’s daily activity. It would be wonderful to chat with you on line or by phone, to organise a ‘Meet and Greet’ to introduce myself to your pet whilst in your company which will enable them to get to know me. Then, consequently when the planned sit comes around they will be able to feel relaxed and at ease in my company. I can provide excellent references and testimonials on request. For housesits, to ease the process I would like to know please: An overview of your pets general behaviour and habits, for example are they: Friendly with other dogs, animals? What’s their routine? Food they eat daily? Are they allowed on the furniture or restricted to certain areas in the house? Do your dogs walk off or on the lead? What makes them happy? How would they notify me that they need to go to the toilet? How long can they be left alone for? Are they an outside or inside cat? Their personality? It is important for me to know if they have any specific traits or issues, or Do they have any medical conditions and need medication? I also welcome discussing these with me prior to meeting either via message or over the phone. Can my clients to please write this necessary information as a note for me to have during the housesit. This will include for example your pets daily routines, their feeding amount and times and an emergency contact and vet details. Frances came to stay two days before I went away so got to bond with my cat and dog. Frances was amenable to my suggestion that she should meet us a couple of weeks before the actual sit, & also coming 48 hours before we left so that she could really get to understand Tipi’s routine, favourite walks etc & the house. We had no issues whatsoever, she gained Tipi’s confidence & soon became a substitute for us. This was reinforced when we met her some 4 days later to return a key & he bounded up to her like a long lost friend - he is clearly very attached to her & we have asked Frances to housesit for us again. We have no hesitation in recommending her - Tipi is quite anxious & likes a fair amount of walking, but she was up to the job & both he & the house had definitely been well cared for.
