I was born with a deep love for animals! I've had cats all my life & dogs for 20+ years. I started working in a Veterinary Hospital at 16 while still in high school & went on to college for Veterinary Medicine. Though I never got my degree I've worked with dogs & cats professionally for 30+ years. My work experience began as a Kennel Worker, caring for hospitalized & boarding animals, assisting Vet Technicians & Veterinarians in a clinic setting. I was then trained as a Veterinary Technician in a clinic, assisting Veterinarians with animal care, surgeries, & hospital care. With this knowledge I was able to work at the University of Missouri Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, processing clinical lab samples, assisting Veterinarians & Vet students, & learning about the diagnostic side of animal care. Lastly, I worked as a Senior Animal Care Technician assisting with & caring for MU research dogs. I was responsible for basic animal care, pre & post surgery care, assisting surgeon, & training students. I've retired from work to stay home full-time, but continue to care for my own furry bunch. I've had more cats than I can count & 4 dogs. Currently I call 4 black cats my babies. All of my animals have been rescues & adoptions. I'm skilled at elder pet care, kitten & puppy care, housetraining, crate-training, giving meds in all forms, nail trims, teeth brushing, some grooming, & major loving. I have a working knowledge of animal behavior & believe in positive reinforcement only. I also have a great relationship with multiple veterinarians. Your fur-babies will be in good hands & loved while in my care! I've retired from working outside the home & am free to see after your pet's well-being any time of day. I can travel & be away from my home multiple days/ nights. In your home I can care for basic house duties ie: getting mail/ packages, watering plants, & necessary animal care clean-up. If at all possible I will adhere to your pets daily routine to keep normalcy & lessen anxiety. I have reliable transportation with plenty of room for carrying multiple pets. Safety is my utmost concern & all care will be taken to keep your pets healthy & happy while in my care. Communication is also important & I will be sure to keep you updated as much as you'd like.
