I’ve taken care of all types of animals my entire life from dogs all the way to alpacas! I grew up riding and taking care of horses since I was 6 which came with learning about how different animals communicate. I also grew up with 2 Jack Russell’s who were both my best friends until they passed from old age. I am luckily the only member of my family who isn’t allergic to cats, I think it’s because my grandmother had 20+ cats when I was a kid, and I made it my personal goal to befriend every single one. I love animals and I promise I will love your dog, cat, fish, snake, etc just as much! If you do happen to have a pet that is not a dog that needs to be watched let me know, and we can work something out!

Flannery did a great job. She communicated frequently and took great care of my 4 year old lab mix.
Flannery’s love for dogs, cats and any other animal is far above most people. She’s taken care of countless dogs and cats, as well as being a horseback rider for 15+ years. If you’re going to choose someone to walk/watch your animals, you should definitely pick her.
Flannery is so sweet and caring as a person and when it comes to animals! I would trust her with all my pets! She’s a big animal lover, both cats and dogs, and will go out of her way to ensure animals are feeling loved and cared for.
Flannery and I have been friends for years and I can confidently say that she is one of the best people I know. She is so loving, compassionate, and trustworthy. Flannery currently has 2 dogs that she treats like angels. She is incredibly gentle and kind with all animals and I can guarantee that she will treat every animal she watches with such care.

If I could describe myself when I’m taking care of a clients animals it would be a ‘helicopter mom’. I make sure the animal is either let out or walked multiple times a day. I also set alarms at what time the animals need to be fed, and with requests many many photos. I also like to speak with clients about any strange behavior that may show up with animals, and when the animal displays any strange behavior I make the client aware ASAP!

Please let me know if your dog has any specials needs or strange behaviors that can be normal. I also need to know if a dog can get aggressive and what that dogs boundaries would be or any specific signs of aggression to look out for. If you have an over reactive dog I would prefer to meet the dog with the client present that way the dog does not see me as a stranger and we can discuss different types of methods used by the client.
A typical day
Living in the Outer Banks gives many options for great walks. I live in a community with a dog park, walking trails, a dock (if swims are possible), and many stations of doggy bags! I also enjoy running and I’m always looking for a running buddy (with permission of course). I frequently go on walks on my own in Nags Head woods, the Wright brothers memorial, and of course walks along the beach!

Availability
I currently work as a kayak guide and in an office (that allows well behaved dogs), and I also work as a hostess. On normal days I’m done with work at 3pm, and on hosting days I’m done at 9pm. However some days of the week I am free all day.
