Less Talk, More Walk!

Pet care experience

I grew up on a farm where taking care of dogs, cats, goats, sheep, poultry, and the occasional horse was a beloved part of every day! Now, living in downtown Grand Rapids, there are a few less livestock in my life, but definitely no shortage of doggos. Friends, family, and neighbors call on me to dogsit, catsit, and housesit for them when they are out of town or having a busy day. I am experienced in large and small dog breeds of any and all ages (My family having raised 2 labs, 2 German shepherds, and an Australian shepherd) and I currently have a 9 month old Newfoundland pup who keeps me on my toes! Additionally, I seek out teaching / training opportunities for dogs and puppies and I believe that no dog is too old to learn a new trick! Let me know how I can assist you today!

Absolutely fantastic with Duncan! Will for sure recommend and book her again! Based on the photos alone I know that my pup enjoyed his drop in visit!

Fiona was wonderful! She checked in with me everyday with pictures and updates on how my dog Knox was doing. I had no doubts that he was in great hands with her.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe that pets are valued members of the family, and that it is important to set boundaries for them both inside and outside of the house in order to maintain a healthy living (and playing) environment. I keep a safe, structured, and tidy environment that allows everyone (dogs and humans alike) to feel comfortable and confident in their home. Training and play sessions can be a part of every day to make sure that your dog or pup is feeling engaged and excercised! I use leashes, gentle leads, and harnesses to walk dogs depending on their level of training and the suggestion of their owner. These are things that I have on hand to provide if necessary. I will always provide a montage of photos when spending time with your pet to keep you updated on how they are doing and what new tricks they may have learned! Let me know if any safety or environment concerns you may have!

Information Fiona S. would like to know about your pet

I’d love to know what sort of schedule your pet normally follows, and if you would like me to work on any training pieces while I’m caring for them. Of course, any feeding schedules and normal potty break schedules are important as well. I will make sure to maintain your pets normal routine while caring for them. Does your pet experience separation anxiety? Are there any other fears or triggers for your pet that I should keep in mind while I am caring for them? If there are any concerns you have about scheduling care for your pet, I am available to do a meet and greet before a booking to make sure you feel confident about the situation.

A typical day

I like to make sure that the days activities / visits / walks are based on what you and your pet are most comfortable with in order to maintain a consist schedule. Whether that means a walk through the park, an outdoor play session, a training session, or just some chill time, I want to make sure your pet is cared for and engaged!
