Our rescue dog, Penny, was terrified of the leash; she would tremble, cower and hide every time we would get out the leash for her walks. We believe Penny was traumatized by being tied up and left as a puppy. With Fiona’s guidance, we worked through Penny’s fear by positive reinforcement with her and learning a way to leash her without triggering her fears. After just a few days, she could be approached with the leash without the intensity of dread. She is much more calm and stable with the leash. There are four adults in our home that harness and leash Penny for her walks, and we all have used Fiona’s instructions and found that we each have had real success with Penny. Sometimes, she now even comes to us to be leashed when it’s time for a walk. Fiona was wonderful to work with - very calming for both Penny and me.
