Pet care experience
I don't remember a time in my life when animals were not an integral part of my world. I grew up on a rural farm caring for dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. For 13.5 years, I had the great honor of loving and caring for my Golden Retriever, Danny. I had to say goodbye to him in early 2024, and though I'm not ready for another family member just yet, I can't imagine life without the joy of animals—so, I'm channeling all that unspent love into caring for other people's animal companions. I am at ease caring for pups of any age—I cared for my dog from puppyhood until his last day and am comfortable handling seizures and senior pet care in general; I've assisted in a puppy birth and raised kittens; and I've offered services for dogs of all shapes & sizes, from 100-lb Labradors and German Shepherds to 10-lb Munchkins (my childhood Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix). I'm a big snuggler and an active outdoors person, and there's nothing I'd rather do than cuddle up with your pet and take them out for adventures.

Finn is one of a kind. To give context, Finn is a part-time caretaker for my terminally ill mom, and that's how we met. My dog, Batman, immediately took to Finn, so now Finn takes care of him part-time as well for me while I work full-time. Batman is a German Shepherd rescue and is often very anxious around people, but he knows Finn by name and loves them so much to the point where I can't get him to leave Finn alone. I am really grateful for Finn and how safe I feel when I leave Batman with them. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable about dogs but also has a really special connection to them, Finn is your person!
Finn is one of very few people I ever trusted to watch my dog, Daisy. In addition to my being a bit of a helicopter parent, Daisy had frequent anxiety and in her later years, several physical health issues, which made it hard for me to leave her, but Finn made it so much easier. Their energy always put Daisy (and me) at ease, and they'd send updates and pictures to let me know how Daisy was doing. Finn is exceptionally gentle, attentive, and reliable. I'd highly recommend them to any pet owner looking for a sitter and possibly a new best friend for their pup.
Finn is a phenomenal pet sitter. They have decades of experience caring for animals. Their devoted care, patience, and consideration of each pet's independent needs is extraordinary. They are very professional, have excellent communication. Finn is my go-to for trusted, thoughtful, and thorough care of my fur babies. It makes leaving town much easier knowing my cats, dogs, and chickens are in good hands with Finn.
Finn helps us take care of both my wife with Dementia and our giant black Shepard "Batman" ...some days it's a toss up who is more difficult ! But the main idea is I'm equally comfortable with Finn taking care of my 2 loved ones !!!

I don't think I could leave a mess or break a rule if I tried; I love keeping things clean, love following instructions, and love attuning to the animals I'm caring for & the spaces I'm in to offer whatever sort of care is needed. I was the sort of pet parent who would leave pages of instructions and would still be anxious if I weren't receiving photo updates; at the same time, I feel that offering care is an intuitive practice. Whatever style of pet parent you are, I'm ready to meet you where you are and love on your pet(s) in whatever way makes them happy and puts you at ease.

I was a helicopter pet parent myself, so I get it—please spare no detail in telling me what you desire for your companion’s care! I want to provide your pet with as much consistency and security as possible so that they can rest easy while you’re away.
A typical day
There’s little I love more than getting on an animal’s level and coaxing out their playful energy. I also love spending time outside, whether hiking or sun bathing or trail running, and I’d love to take your pet along for as many adventures as they’d like. I also adore cuddling and will happily spend hours snuggled up with your pet and providing endless loves.

Availability
I am a part-time caregiver and otherwise work from home, so I only need to leave the house for a couple of shifts each week; this means I can commit to being home with your pet and never having to leave for more than 5 hours at a time.
