Happy dog lover with years of fostering experience
Pet care experience
I’ve had dogs all my life and spent the last 4 years fostering dogs or all sizes for a national charity. This includes puppies, dogs with behavioural or medical issues, and older dogs. I am a solo female with a happy home and enclosed garden, which is an ideal environment for most dogs. Happy to drive dogs, walk them or play in the house as per their needs and have lots of toys. Dogs are permitted on furniture/beds/upstairs etc, whatever is normal for them. Harnesses preferred for dogs that pull on the lead but collar fine if secure. Slip leads not accepted.
Reviews
Fern is excellent. Our Floyd had the best time and she even collected and dropped him off to make things easier for us. We have already booked Fern again for the future. Highly recommend.
5 star review from my little dog Rolo he had a wonderful time. I was very nervous about leaving him but fern put me at ease with regular updates and photos . A real home from home . Thank you so much
Fern was Brillint with Dylan, they had a lovely day together and communication was great. He was very happy and relaxed when we collected him and I’d be more than happy to leave him with Fern again. Thanks!
Fern was absolutely great with Jasmine and you can tell she is very comfortable around dogs. She immediately put my mind at ease! Her lovely calm demeanour translates to the dog she is looking after. Fern sent me lots of pictures of the day and took jasmine out on the long lead for sniffing adventures ;) she also had a fully stocked toybox in her living room and I have no doubt jasmine had a wonderful day. This was my first booking with Fern and i would definitely be happy to use her for boarding too 🙂

Information Fern C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know anything that your dog particularly enjoys or if they have fears so that I can avoid the triggers. Please also let your vet know that your dog will be staying with me, in case of injury or illness. I will always contact you if there is a problem but your vet will need your authorisation to liaise with me so it’s best they have this in advance to avoid delay should your pooch have any unexpected issues.
A typical day
For active dogs and those who like to play, a typical day would include a walk in the morning (particularly in the summer when it gets very warm). During the day can be as active or chilled as the dog chooses. For those who want it, another walk at the end of the day is always offered. There are lots of parks and woods nearby to suit all preferences and weather e.g. shady and water walks for hot summer days and the house is super cool for those who want a more relaxed pace.

I work mostly from home and have a flexible schedule so can ensure I’m home whenever needed. I drive and happy to walk as much or as little as is normal for your dog.
