Pet care experience
Growing up in Ontario, my household has always had pets and I had the pleasure of caring for a number of wonderful dogs amongst other smaller pets. My husband Mike and I moved to Vancouver Island a few years ago and are missing canine companionship and see this as a great opportunity to hang out with some wonderful animals and make them feel like a part of the family when their family is away. If your dog loves to run, we are a perfect match! We are both avid runners and would love to take your dog out on a running adventure or out for a walk exploring the many beautiful trails in our neighbourhood. I work for the local school board, which gives me the flexibility of a shortened work day as well as having summers off. We also have an almost 2 year old little boy, who loves animals and has had the opportunity to meet and play with many friendly dogs.

Would highly recommend! Arlo had a long stay with Evelyn over the Christmas holidays and it seems like they welcomed him as part of the family and even got him a present. Great communication and flexibility for drop off pick up timing.
I really appreciated that Evelyn was available over the holidays to take care of our kitty while we were away. She wrote us excellent detailed updates at every visit, even when our shy kitty was hiding and there wasn't much to report. I wouldn't hesitate to have Evelyn pet sit again. Thanks again!
Evelyn has been a wonderful help with our very old little boy dog, Zulu. He has some special needs and she has been attentive and adaptable to his situation. It's been a very comfortable working relationship and we have a great rhythm with our communications. We've gained some real peace of mind knowing that she's dropping in to visit him.

Information Evelyn P. would like to know about your pet
As every owner has their own way of dealing with their pets, I always want to know how each owner deals with negative behaviours and rewards positive ones; does the owner limit treats, are there any triggers for the pet (I owned a dog who was scared of trains, so it was always good it know beforehand if any parks had a railway behind them before we went for our walks). I love all breeds, especially larger dogs that are interested in being outside!
A typical day
I love taking dogs on long walks in areas with beautiful scenery, Westwood is one of my favourites, as is Neck Point. In Ladysmith, I enjoy walking near Transfer Beach and the Holland Creek Trail is just a short walk away from our home. If your dogs enjoys running, we can run together as well!
