Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Evan, and I'm a passionate and dedicated dog lover with extensive experience in looking after our four-legged friends. I've always had a deep love and understanding of dogs, and I've dedicated myself to providing the best possible care for them. I have over 20 years of experience looking after dogs, ranging from my own dogs over the years, pet sitting for friends and family to working professionally as a dog walker. Throughout my years of experience, I've had the pleasure of caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, and I've developed a deep understanding of their needs and behaviours. Why Choose Me: What sets me apart from other dog sitters is my genuine love and dedication to each and every dog in my care. I understand that every dog is unique and has their own individual needs, and I tailor my care approach to ensure that each dog receives personalized attention and affection. Whether it's a rambunctious puppy or a senior dog needing extra TLC, I am committed to providing the highest quality care and making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved in my care.

We can't thank Evan & Victoria enough for the amazing care they provide for our beloved Ruby. From the moment we met them, it was clear they genuinely adore animals, and Ruby has quickly become fond of them too! Whether it's daily walks or overnight stays, they go above and beyond to ensure Ruby is not only well-cared for but also loved and entertained. Their updates and photos during Ruby's stays always put our minds at ease, knowing she's in the best of hands. We're forever grateful for the peace of mind they provide, allowing us to travel worry-free, knowing Ruby is receiving the same love and attention she gets at home. Ruby gives Evan two paws up, and we couldn't agree more! Highly recommended!"

For the nearly 2 years, I have been neighbours with Evan and his partner Vic and gotten to know them as wonderful caring people, especially when it comes to my dog Walter (Frenchie 6 y/o). I work A LOT and am always in and out of London, so Evan and Vic help out with Walter when I'm stuck. I can always tell when Walter had a good day with them, playing in their garden, going to the park or snoozing on the couch, when I come home and he is too tired to even greet me because he has had such a good day, or when I try to take him home and he doesn't want to leave! Having Evan and Vic care your pet doesn't just give you peace of mind that your dog is in good hands while you're away from them, but more importantly that your pet will have fun and look forward to seeing them again and again.

Information Evan L. would like to know about your pet

Understanding important details about the dogs ahead of time is crucial for providing the best possible care. Here are some key points that I would want to know about the dogs before caring for them: Breed and Size: Knowing the breed and size of the dogs helps me understand their general characteristics, energy levels, and potential behavior traits. This information also allows me to plan appropriate activities and accommodations. Age: The age of the dogs is important as it can impact their exercise needs, dietary requirements, and overall health considerations. Puppies, adult dogs, and seniors have different needs that need to be addressed accordingly. Temperament: Understanding the temperament of the dogs, including their personality traits, socialization levels, and any behavioral issues, helps me provide appropriate care and ensure a positive experience for both the dogs and myself. Health Considerations: It's crucial to be aware of any health issues or medical conditions that the dogs may have, such as allergies, dietary restrictions, mobility issues, or chronic illnesses. This information allows me to administer medications, adjust activities, and monitor their well-being effectively. Exercise Requirements: Knowing the dogs' exercise needs and preferences helps me plan appropriate activities to keep them physically and mentally stimulated. Some dogs may require vigorous exercise, while others may prefer more leisurely strolls or indoor play sessions. Training and Commands: Understanding the dogs' training history, obedience level, and familiarity with commands allows me to communicate effectively and maintain consistency in training methods. This helps prevent confusion and ensures a harmonious experience during walks and activities. Socialization: Knowing the dogs' socialization levels and experiences with other dogs, animals, and people helps me plan interactions and environments that are comfortable and safe for them. This includes assessing their reactions to new situations and stimuli. Favorite Activities and Toys: Learning about the dogs' favorite activities, toys, treats, and routines allows me to personalize their care and provide enriching experiences that they enjoy. Incorporating familiar and beloved items helps them feel comfortable and happy in my care. By gathering these important details about the dogs ahead of time, I can tailor my approach to meet their individual needs, preferences, and personalities. This ensures a positive and fulfilling experience for the dogs under my care and allows me to provide the best possible care and companionship during our time together.

A typical day

Here's a description of a typical day and some fun activities I would do with the dogs I take care of: Morning: Wake-Up and Morning Routine: I start the day by waking up early and ensuring that the dogs are attended to. This includes letting them out for a bathroom break, providing fresh water, and serving breakfast. Morning Walk or Play Session: After breakfast, I take the dogs for a refreshing morning walk in the neighborhood or a nearby park. This allows them to stretch their legs, get some exercise, and explore new scents (Or read the daily news as I like to put it) Training and Mental Stimulation: Back home, I engage the dogs in some training exercises or mental stimulation activities to keep their minds sharp and reinforce good behaviour. This could include practicing obedience commands, playing interactive games, or using puzzle toys. Midday: 4. Midday Break: Around midday, I give the dogs another opportunity to go outside for a bathroom break and some fresh air. This may include a short walk or play session in the backyard. Quiet Time and Relaxation: During the midday hours, I ensure that the dogs have time to relax and unwind. This could involve providing a comfortable resting area with cozy bedding or allowing them to nap in a quiet space. Afternoon: 6. Afternoon Adventure: In the afternoon, I like to head out for an exciting adventure for the dogs, such as a hike in a nearby Common, a visit to a dog-friendly beach, or a trip to a local dog park. This allows them to explore new environments, socialize with other dogs, and enjoy the great outdoors. Interactive Playtime: Back home, I engage the pets in interactive playtime with their favorite toys, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek. This helps them burn off excess energy and strengthens the bond between us. Evening: 9. Dinner Time: In the evening, I serve dinner for the dogs at their usual feeding time, ensuring they receive a nutritious and balanced meal. Evening Walk or Stroll: After dinner, I take the dogs for a leisurely evening walk around the neighborhood. This provides them with another opportunity for exercise and mental stimulation before winding down for the night. Cuddles and Relaxation: Before bedtime, I spend some quiet time cuddling with the dogs, giving them affection, and providing reassurance. This helps them feel loved and secure as they settle down for the night. Throughout the day, I tailor the activities to suit the pets' preferences, energy levels, and individual needs, ensuring that each day is filled with fun, adventure, and plenty of love and attention!
