Pet care experience
I love dogs! My flexible, freelance part-time work allows me to be extremely present for your dog - and not just in the home. An avid hiker, I will happily take your pup along fire trails, out for extended walks, or for a jog around the local park. I have been a loving doggie "step-mom" to a high-energy breed for years, and choose to supplement my job with dog-walking because canine companionship is some of my favorite. I'm confident in my ability to handle sticky scenarios - should they ever arise. I am both firm and playful, and your pet will come to trust me. I've lived with an Australian Shepherd and cared for a number of smaller breeds. Good for tug-of-war, grooming, ball-throwing, running, poop-scooping, and plain cuddling! Responsible and fun.

Eva has sat my sweet lil golden retriever soul mate Moose on an as-needed basis. She is very obviously connected to all animals on a deeper level than most. I have observed the love and attention she extends to Moose and am always impressed by her ability to read Moose's needs. She takes her time and is very conscious of the well-being of the animals she cares for. I highly recommend Eva as a dog sitter. All beings will benefit from the relationships created and fostered.
Eva has done a wonderful job caring for my dog Katie whenever I go out of town or need a dog free afternoon. Eva has always been easy to communicate and organize with. Katie and her often go to the park where they run together and play with other dogs. I couldn't feel happier or more assured that Katie is in good hands than when Eva comes by to take her on their "play dates". It is clear to me Eva really loves her time with Katie (obviously Katie is the best dog in the world...) and I am happy to have seen that Katie has come to be excited every time Eva shows up at our home to take her out. If you need someone to care for and love your dog Eva will be an excellent choice!

I like all dog breeds and mixes - slight preference for medium to large dogs. I would like to know if your dog is a guard dog/barks at strangers. I need to know if your dog has special needs - if they're vision or hearing-impaired, if they are sick or prone to injury, if they tend to have digestive trouble, etc.
A typical day
Hiking, running, and exploring the Berkeley and Oakland hills will be part of the experience for your dog. I know many dog-friendly trails in the East Bay regional park district, but dog parks are also a fun time (especially if your breed is social). I'll provide play-time in my yard, can offer some basic training for tricks, and don't tire easily with ball games. I have rope, chew toys, and treats your dog can play with. I will pet and cuddle your pup to their heart's content!
